NetherRealm Studios caught Mortal Kombat fans off guard when they announced that the new game in the franchise would be Mortal Kombat 1, a soft reboot of the iconic series. The twelfth installment will feature a cast of iconic fighters, including Sub-Zero, Liu Kang, Raiden, and many more.
Players are eager to get their hands on Mortal Kombat 1 and test out the new features like Kameo Fighters. Luckily, the first opportunity to do so is right around the corner for some players.
Here’s everything you need to know about the Mortal Kombat 1 Stress Test weekend.
When is Mortal Kombat 1 Stress Test weekend?
The Mortal Kombat 1 Stress Test weekend will take place from Friday, June 23 at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET / 4 PM BST to June 26 at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET / 4 PM BST.
The Mortal Kombat 1 Stress Test will be available to players on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S based in North America, Latin America, Brazil, and Europe. This means that the test is not available to PC or Switch players.
If you’ve been selected to participate, you’ll receive an email invitation from the devs on June 21.
To clarify, this is not the Mortal Kombat 1 beta, which is scheduled for later in August. Rather, the Mortal Kombat 1 Stress Test is meant to test the strength of the game’s online servers ahead of launch.
How to sign up for Mortal Kombat 1 Stress Test weekend
When it comes to playing the Mortal Kombat Stress Test, places are limited and players will be chosen at random.
To sign up for the Mortal Kombat 1 Stress Test, visit the official WB Games MK1 Stress Test webpage and follow the steps. You’ll need a Warner Bros. Games Account to access the steps to sign up.
If you managed to be selected for the Mortal Kombat 1 Stress Test, here’s how to redeem the code and access the game on June 23:
- Head to the email invitation.
- Click ‘Redeem Now’ and sign into your WB Games Account.
- Select Accept and Continue.
- Select your platform.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to redeem the code.
- Select Redeem
The devs clarified that there’s a workaround if the redeem button is not working: “If the “Redeem Now” button is not working, go to https://account.wbgames.com/betas and after signing into your WB Games Account, enter the digital code provided in the email invitation in the [Redeem a Playtest Code] section.”
If you’re one of the lucky players chosen, you’ll get the chance to enjoy the 1 vs. 1 online multiplayer and Klassic Towers mode.
