Minecraft developers constantly release updates with new content to keep their game fresh. If you’re someone who likes trying out the latest content, check out this guide on how to update Minecraft on all platforms including PC, console, and mobile.

Minecraft has been around for over a decade and is still one of the biggest games in the world. Constant updates have significantly contributed to the game’s glorious run as they keep it bug-free and introduce new content that keeps the player base engaged.

While some features like beds, creepers, and enchantments have been available for a long time, mobs such as foxes and axolotls arrived later with content updates.

Although Minecraft installs updates automatically if you choose that setting, it’s equally easy to check for updates manually. In this guide, we’ll cover how to update Minecraft Java and Bedrock editions on every valid platform.

Follow these steps to update Minecraft on PC:

  1. Run the Minecraft launcher. In case you don’t have it, visit the official website to download it.
  2. The launcher should display the latest release automatically. If not, click on the arrow located at the right of the ‘Play’ button and select ‘Latest Release’.
  3. You’ll get an option to download and install the latest version of Minecraft.
