Hogwarts Legacy lets players customize their witch or wizard however they choose, and bonus cosmetics can be unlocked through Twitch Drops. Here’s how to get Hogwarts Legacy Twitch Drops and earn free gear alongside the PS4 and Xbox One launch.

Hogwarts Legacy lets fans live out their ultimate Harry Potter fantasies, and character creation plays a huge role in immersing them in the world. Players are able to fully customize their wizard or witch’s appearance, from their facial features to the robes they wear.

To celebrate Hogwarts Legacy’s arrival on Xbox One and PS4 on May 5, the developers have brought back Twitch Drops to give console players a chance to unlock Merlin’s Cloak and the Professor Ronen Cosmetic Set.

We’ve put together everything you need to know about how to get to Twitch Drops in Hogwarts Legacy.

How to claim Hogwarts Legacy Twitch Drop rewards

In order to receive Hogwarts Legacy Twitch Drops you must connect your WB Games account to your Twitch profile and then watch either Avalanche Software’s ‘Legacy Live’ stream on May 5 at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 5 PM BST or any streamer with Twitch Drops enabled.

While Merlin’s Cloak is a returning reward, the PS4 and Xbox One launch brings the Professor Ronen Cosmetic Set with clothes inspired by Hogwarts’ Charms professor. You’ll receive new Twitch Drops for every 30 minutes of watch time, so you’ll have to watch at least three hours of Hogwarts Legacy streams to claim them all.

You don’t have to do it all in one sitting though, as the drops will be available until June 1, 2023.

We’ve provided a step-by-step guide below:

  1. Head over to the Hogwarts Legacy website.
  2. Create or sign in to your Warner Bros. Games account.
  3. Connect your Twitch account.
  4. Tune in to any streamer playing Hogwarts Legacy with a ‘Drops Enabled’ tag.
  5. Earn a reward every 30 minutes.
  6. Head to the Twitch Inventory page to claim your drops.

How to get Merlin’s Cloak Twitch Drop in Hogwarts Legacy

Hogwarts Legacy players can also claim Merlin’s Cloak by repeating the same steps above, but tune in to Avalance Software’s Legacy Live stream for at least 20 minutes.

Here’s everything you need to do to claim the Merlin’s Cloak Twitch Drop:

  1. Head over to the Hogwarts Legacy website.
  2. Create or sign in to your Warner Bros. Games account.
  3. Connect your Twitch account.
  4. Tune in to Avalance Software’s Legacy Live stream at 9 AM PT on May 5.
  5. Watch for at least 20 minutes.
  6. Head to the Hogwarts Legacy Drops page to claim your reward.

Unfortunately, once the broadcast is complete, there will be no way to unlock Merlin’s Cloak through regular gameplay. However, it could return in July for the Nintendo Switch launch.
