Honkai Star Rail keeps riding on its global success, and its latest big update is right around the corner. Version 1.2 of HoYoverse’s RPG is titled Even Immortality Ends, and the devs shared all the details of the upcoming update, including new playable characters, special events, new bosses, and much more.

If you’re wondering what Honkai Star Rail has in store for you with version 1.2, we’ll go through everything you need to know, from its release date to character banners and more.

Honkai Star Rail version 1.2 release date

The Honkai Star Rail version 1.2 update will officially arrive on July 18, at 8 PM PT / 11 PM ET / 4 AM BST (July 19).

This could mean players can expect big Honkai Star Rail updates every six weeks, although it wasn’t yet confirmed by HoYoverse.

Update 1.2 of Honkai Star Rail will allow players to get add even more familiar faces to their teams. The new banner schedule brings characters that players already met in the campaign and even tried for a brief period.

Players can also expect Arlan, Natasha, and Sushang to feature alongside Blade in Phase One. Kafka and Luka, on the other hand, will be joined by Serval and Sampo.

As usual, Blade and Kafka’s Light Cones will be featured alongside their banners in version 1.2 of the game. The five-star Light Cones are called The Unreachable Side and Patience Is All You Need, respectively.

Honkai Star Rail has many more events in store for players. Update 1.2 will bring new opportunities to get free items, so here’s a rundown of every event players can expect:

Gift of Odyssey

A new edition of Gift of Odyssey will go live with version 1.2, giving players the chance to claim 10 Star Rail Special Passes just by logging into the game.

Tales of the Fantastic

On version 1.2 of Honkai Star Rail, Trailblazers will meet the storyteller known as Mr. Xiyan, located in Starskiff Haven, in the Xianzhou Luofu. This character wants to tell the world about the Trailblazer and their feats in a very particular way. Players will need to find this character to kick off new tasks.

Where are you, Mystery Trotter?

A civilian scientist called Regin picked a new reading with his sensor. The coordinates obtained seem to take players to a mysterious Trotter to launch a new quest with much more than meets the eye.

Underground Treasure Hunt

A large number of Relics will appear in the Underworld. While players try to decipher their connection to the ancient ruins in the Great Mine, the whole area of Belobog will be on the lookout for treasure.

Additionally, two other events will boost drops on version 1.1 of Honkai Star Rail.

  • The Planar Fissure event will double Planar Ormanet drops in the Simulated Universe.
  • The Realm of the Strange event will double the Relic rewards for completing Cavern of Corrosion.

Honkai Star Rail version 1.2 new areas

Honkai Star Rail version 1.2 will finally take players to the end of the Xianzhou Luofu storyline. This means Trailblazers will be able to explore new areas within this region, including the Alchemy Commission, related to the immortality featured in the update’s title.

Other areas include the Aureate Elixir Furnace, the Healer’s Market, and the Medicine Bureau.

As the Xianzhou Luofu storyline comes to an end, players will explore brand-new areas.

Honkai Star Rail version 1.2 new Bosses

In their quest, Honkai Star Rail players will have to defeat new bosses to complete the Xianzhou Luofu storyline. Trailblazers will need to defeat The Ascended, the Abundance Sprite: Malefic Ape, and none other than Yanqing.

Additionally, a new Formidable Foe named Phantylia the Undying will bring the ultimate challenge, but details surrounding her are still under wraps.

Honkai Star Rail version 1.2 new Relics

The 1.2 update of Honkai Star Rail will add two new Relic sets alongside two new Planar Ornaments for players to try out. Here are the new Relics arriving in Honkai Star Rail version 1.2:

Longevous Disciple (Cavern Relic)

  • Two-piece set bonus: Max HP increases.
  • Four-piece set bonus: When the wearer is hit or has their HP reduced by an ally (including themselves), their CRIT Rate increases for a number of turns. Players can stack this effect.

Messenger Traversing Hackerspace (Cavern Relic)

  • Two-piece set bonus: SPD increases.
  • Four-piece set bonus: When the wearer uses their Ultimate on an ally, SPD for all allies increases for a number of turns.

Rutilant Arena (Planar Ornament)

  • Two-piece set bonus: Increases the wearer’s CRIT Rate. When the wearer’s current CRIT Rate is equal or greater than a certain percentage, their Basic ATK and Skill DMG increase.

Broken Keel (Planar Ornament)

  • Two-piece set bonus: Increases the wearer’s Effect RES. When the wearer’s Effect RES is equal or greater than a certain percentage, all allies’ CRIT DMG increases.

How to pre-load Version 1.2 of Honkai Star Rail

Ahead of launch, Honkai Star Rail players will be able to pre-download the 1.2 update on both PC and mobile devices. Once pre-load is available, follow these instructions to be ready when new content arrives:

  1. Open the Honkai Star Rail launcher on your PC.
  2. Click the “Game Pre-Installation” button on the left side of the “Start Game” button”.
  3. Click ‘Get Now’ to start the download.
  4. You can play the game while the content downloads.

Mobile (Android and iOS)

  1. Launch the game on your mobile device.
  2. Tap the “Resource Pre-Download” button in the bottom-right corner of the login screen.
  3. Wait until it finishes downloading to keep playing the game normally.

Do note that mobile players will still need to update the app when the new version goes live.
