Tekken 8 packs in many exciting new features that have generated a buzz within the community, and a player on Reddit has stated that one of them could make the game “immortal.”

Tekken 8‘s release is on the horizon and many players are looking forward to the latest installment in the iconic fighting game franchise. The title brings a stacked roster, featuring old favorites and some interesting new additions.

The devs have already hyped up the game’s story mode, which promises to provide a satisfying conclusion to the Mishima saga. Besides all this, players can also look forward to a brand new mode titled Arcade Quest that lets players create their own custom avatars.

On the gameplay front, Tekken 8 is set to introduce the new Heat system. This mechanic encourages players to pressure opponents and go on the offensive, and it could drastically change how matches play out.

All in all, there’s plenty of positivity surrounding the game, and players online are also optimistic about how long the game will retain an active player base. A Reddit post by user ‘ShadOw2’ sparked a discussion on the matter, with the OP stating that crossplay will make it “immortal.”

The addition of crossplay to Tekken 8 will let players from different platforms play against each other. This was a feature missing from Tekken 7, and its absence made it harder to find online matches during the last few years of its cycle.

The OP brought up the same point saying, “As a PC player for the last 4 years I’ve barely found any matches and was stuck on my rank and never really felt that I improved cause I played with my friends only, so I had a hard time of enjoying the game fully.”

They went on to share their hopes for the game, “Now with the addition of crossplay and the fact that Tekken is now more popular than ever I bet that this game is gonna be good as f**k when it comes out and the crossplay is gonna keep it alive even more.”

Users in the comments section were similarly pleased with the addition of crossplay, “It was a crime that T7 wasn’t crossplay, and look how popular it was regardless. T8 with crossplay will be like the be-all and end-all.”

Aside from the positive responses, some players stressed the importance of good netcode, “All good and well for Crossplay – but it means nothing without good netcode and matchmaking. Tekken does not have a good history on this front!”

We’ll have to wait until release to see just how Tekken 8’s netcode holds up. Until then, check out if Tekken 8 will be on Xbox Game Pass or the game’s PC requirements.
