Men of War 2 has both single-player and multiplayer modes, and of course, the multiplayer will require an online connection. Here’s whether the single-player side of it is also always online.

Best Way’s iconic World War II-based RTS series, Men of War, will be marching again with three campaigns bringing battles on the Western and Eastern Fronts. The tightly packed single-player is backed by several PvP and PvE modes.

Is Men of War 2 always online?

Yes, Men of War 2 is an always-online title at launch, and you’ll need an internet connection even if you’re playing single-player. But an offline mode is in development and will be available at a later date.

Men of War 2 has co-op modes and supports PvP from 1v1 to 5v5.

The offline mode was announced by Best Way in their May 10, 2023 Steam post, where they also provided reasons for the game always being online.

Speaking about the requirements, the devs said, “The game was developed as always online to allow us to maintain live leaderboards, properly synchronize rewards players receive (including for actions in single-player and co-op content), and prevent cheating at the same time.”

Men of War 2 was earlier announced as an always-online title, but the requirement wasn’t met positively, and Best Way have now decided to reverse it and are working on an offline mode.
