Genshin Impact Triumphant Frenzy

Version 4.4 of Genshin Impact introduced a new combat event, Triumphant Frenzy. Unlike other similar events, you’ll have to play with a limited pool of trial characters, so if you’re struggling with team composition, here’s a stage-wise guide for the event.

Phase 2 of version 4.4 is now live in Genshin Impact, and it brings Xiao and Yae Miko to the limited-banner. Triumphant Frenzy will end soon on February 26, the same day Lantern Rite ends, so if you’re looking to wish for either of two characters, the Primogems rewards from the event will be more than fruitful.

Unlike other similar combat events in Genshin Impact, you can’t pick your characters in Triumphant Frenzy and have to work with the ones the game throws at you. It’ll obviously get tough if you aren’t picking the right characters.

So, here’s how to play the event as well as a step-by-step guide on the best characters for each stage.

How to play Triumphant Frenzy in Genshin Impact

Triumphant Frenzy is a round-based combat event in Genshin Impact. There are a total of four rounds, and in each round, you’ll have to pick the characters from a list of options. These are trial characters and are not the ones you own.

In the first round, you have to pick four characters, and in the following round, you’ll be given the choice to pick two more from another set of characters.

All the available character choices throughout the stage will be shown on the challenge screen.

Genshin Impact Triumphant Frenzy
You can see all characters that can be picked on the left of your screen.

Each character has two resolve points, and they’ll lose one resolve each time you play them. Once all resolve is used, you can no longer pick the character, which means you can play one character only two times.

This also affects the buff for a stage, as you’ll need a total of six resolves from your team to maximize the resolve buff. You don’t have to worry about this too much though, as selecting the right combination should be enough.

Plus, if you’re only after Primogems, you don’t need to play the event on the highest difficulty, as the lower ones reward all the Primogems.

Genshin Impact Triumphant Frenzy all stage guide

Here’s a stage-wise guide for the Triumphant Frenzy event in Genshin Impact, detailing the best team to pick and general strategy:

Stage 1: Rhythmic Quickstep

Round 1:

  • All picks: Neuvillette, Yae Miko, Kazuha, and Bennett
Genshin Impact Triumphant Frenzy
You can pick Kirara if you need a shielder for Neuvillette.

The primary damage dealer here is Neuvillette, and while Bennett doesn’t buff Neuvillette, he’ll make the next stage much easier.

As for how to play Neuvillette, check out our build guide for him. Just do the basics, and you’ll be able to clear the round easily, even at higher difficulties.

Round 2:

  • Characters to pick: Lyney and Dehya.
  • Team: Leyney, Bennett, Kazuha, and Dehya.

This is almost a perfect team for Leyney, as Kazuha and Bennett are his best supports. Alternatively, you can pick Xingqiu instead of Dheya and use him on the next floor with Wriothesley.

Round 3:

  • Characters to pick: Wriothesley and Yelan
  • Team: Wriothesley, Yelan, Dehya (Xingqiu if picked earlier), and Yae Miko.

All you need here are Wriothesley and Yelan, as they should be able to clear on their own. Additionally, keep using Yae Miko’s Elemental Skill (you can do it before you start the round to save a few seconds) for bonus damage.

Round 4:

  • Characters to pick: Navia and Furina.
  • Team: Navia, Furina, Yelan, and Neuvillette.

Here, you can either play Navia or Neuvillette. Both, when paired with Furina, are good enough on their own for this round. Navia can also make use of Yelan, and even though Furina will drain HP, you should have enough DMG to clear the floor before reaching critical health.

Rewards:

  • Normal Difficulty: x60 Primogems, x30,000 Mora, x4 Sanctifying Unction.
  • Advanced Difficulty: x20 Primogems, x30,000 Mora, x3 Hero’s Wit.
  • Pro Difficulty: x30,000 Mora, x3 Mystic Enhancement Ore, x6 Fine Enhancement Ore.

Stage 2:  A Blade From Above

Round 1:

  • All picks: Diluc, Bennett, Xingqiu, and Xianyun.

The stage favors plunging attacks and that’s what you’ll be doing here as well. This is essentially Diluc’s best team, and with Xianyun he does good damage, enough to comfortably clear this floor.

You can check our Xianyun’s build guide to know more about her playstyle.

Alternatively, you can use Alhaitham, Fischl, and Xingqiu, and you don’t have to worry about anything else, even in the higher difficulty, as they’re strong as a trio. For the fourth slot, you can pick Bennett for later stages.

Round 2:

  • Characters to pick: Ayaka and Wriothesley.
  • Team: Wriothesley, Ayaka, Xingqiu, and Diluc.

This floor favors freeze so you can run both Ayaka and Wriothesley. They’re both DPS, and you’ll only ever need one but here you can use the other during downtimes. A duo of Xingqiu and either Wriothesley or Ayaka is always good, Diluc can provide additional damage in case there’s more downtime.

If you’ve picked our alternative recommendation from Round 1, play the same team here, just Fischl instead of Diluc.

Genshin Impact Triumphant Frenzy
The initial two rounds can be easily cleared without any plunging attacks centered team.

Round 3:

  • Characters to pick: Gaming and Kazuha.
  • Team: Gaming, Bennett, Xianyun, and Kazuha.

Gaming, Bennett, and Xianyun are all you’ll ever need in this round. They’ll deal good enough damage that you can comfortably clear the round.

For Gaming, you can check our build guide to understand his play style.

In case you’re following the alternative recommendation from above, pick Xianyun here instead of Kazuha, and you can run the same team.

Round 4:

  • Characters to pick: Xiao and Faruzan.
  • Team: Xiao, Faruzan, Kazuha, and anyone else.

All you need here are Xiao and Faruzan. Even on the toughest difficulty, it’ll be an easy clear. You can pick other characters, like Gaming, for some damage during downtimes. Kazuha can group and generate particles for Xiao and Faruzan.

If you’ve been using our alternative recommendation, just use Xiao, Faruzan, and Xianyun. It’ll be even more easy with these three.

Rewards:

  • Normal Difficulty: x60 Primogems, x30,000 Mora, x4 Sanctifying Unction.
  • Advanced Difficulty: x20 Primogems, x30,000 Mora, x3 Hero’s Wit.
  • Pro Difficulty: x30,000 Mora, x3 Mystic Enhancement Ore, x6 Fine Enhancement Ore.

Stage 3: Blazing Like A Flaming Flower

Round 1:

  • All picks: Furina, Xianyun, Xingqiu, and Yelan

Xingqiu and Yelan are a strong duo, as are Furina and Xianyun. With this team, there shouldn’t be much struggle.

Round 2:

  • Characters to pick: Xiangling and Ayato.
  • Team: Ayato, Xingqiu, Charlotte, and Xiangling.

Charlotte can both freeze with the help of Ayato and Xingqiu as well as heal. The remaining three synergize well and are good damage dealers.

Here’s a build guide for Ayato to help you understand how to play him.

Round 3:

  • Characters to pick: Bennett and Yoimiya.
  • Team: Bennett, Yoimiya, Yelan, and Furina.

A proper team for Yoimiya so you should be good to clear this round without much struggle on the highest difficulty.

Round 4:

  • Characters to pick: Ganyu and Layla.
  • Team: Ganyu, Bennett, Xiangling, and Layla.

You can even pick Kokomi instead of Layla for some freeze, but Layla provides a shield, so you don’t run into the risk of being interrupted during charged attacks. Either way, it is a strong team, more than good enough to clear this round.

Rewards:

  • Normal Difficulty: x60 Primogems, x30,000 Mora, x4 Sanctifying Unction.
  • Advanced Difficulty: x20 Primogems, x30,000 Mora, x3 Hero’s Wit.
  • Pro Difficulty: x30,000 Mora, x3 Mystic Enhancement Ore, x6 Fine Enhancement Ore.

Stage 4: Law of Concentrated White Light

Round 1:

  • All picks: Yae Miko, Raiden Shogun, Xingqiu, and Fischl
Genshin Impact Triumphant Frenzy
The resolve buff increases EM whenever you do Elemental DMG.

It is a fairly simple team to play and clearing this round is extremely comfortable with it as well. Even at the highest difficulty, you’ll complete the round well before the timer.

You can perform Yae Miko’s and Raiden Shogun’s Elemental Skill and Xingqiu’s Elemental Burst before your start round for an even more quick clear.

Round 2:

  • Characters to pick: Nahida and Bennett.
  • Team: Yae Miko, Nahida, Bennet, and Fischl.

This one is easier as well, Nahida, Fischl, and Yae are a killer team, especially as this round has Hydro enemies. All of the characters here do sustain damage, and there’s no downtime, you don’t have to worry much here. It is just as easy to play as the first team.

Round 3:

  • Characters to pick: Keqing and Kuki Shinobu.
  • Team: Keqing, Kuki Shinobu, Nahida, and Xingqui.

It’s not a perfect team by any means but you can still comfortably clear the round, even in the higher difficulty.

The alternative here would be using Raiden Shogun instead of Kuki but you’re good either way.

Round 4:

  • Characters to pick:  Ayato and Kazuha.
  • Team: Ayato, Kazuha, Raiden Shogun, and Kuki Shinobu (or Bennett).

For the first few waves of enemies, just Kazuha is enough, really. You can perform Raiden Shogun’s Elemental Skill early and then use Kazuha’s Skill and Burst.

For the later waves, Ayato is enough for Pyro Abyss Lector, but if you’re finding it difficult, you can use Xingqui here instead of round 3.

Rewards:

  • Normal Difficulty: x60 Primogems, x30,000 Mora, x4 Sanctifying Unction.
  • Advanced Difficulty: x20 Primogems, x30,000 Mora, x3 Hero’s Wit.
  • Pro Difficulty: x30,000 Mora, x3 Mystic Enhancement Ore, x6 Fine Enhancement Ore.

Stage 5: The Shimmering Tree-Shadows

Round 1:

  • All picks: Nahida, Nilou, Collei, and Barbara.
The Shimmering Tree-Shadows stage genshin impact
All characters that you don’t pick first can be picked later.

This is a perfect team for Nilou and should make for an easy clear, with at least a dozen seconds left on the clock, even on the highest difficulty.

Round 2:

  • Characters to pick: Cyno and Yelan.
  • Team: Nahida, Nilou, Collei, and Barbara.

It is recommended to run the same team as the previous round here as well, with Cyno and Yelan being picked for the upcoming rounds. Yes, you won’t get all the resolve buffs with one less resolve in all your characters, but it won’t make much difference, and you’ll regardless clear the round easily.

Round 3:

  • Characters to pick:  Furina and Biazhu.
  • Team: Cyno, Yelan, Furina, and Baizhu.

Like the previous two rounds, this one will be just as easy with this team. If you do not know how to play Cyno, check out our build guide that details how to play him as well as the best rotations.

Round 4:

  • Characters to pick:  Kuki and Yaoyao
  • Team: Cyno, Yelan, Furina, and Baizhu.

Each character can be picked twice, so why not put that to good use here again? Of course, given we’re playing the same team as in round 3, it doesn’t matter which two characters you pick as this is the last round.

Rewards:

  • Normal Difficulty: x60 Primogems, x30,000 Mora, x4 Sanctifying Unction.
  • Advanced Difficulty: x20 Primogems, x30,000 Mora, x3 Hero’s Wit.
  • Pro Difficulty: x30,000 Mora, x3 Mystic Enhancement Ore, x6 Fine Enhancement Ore.

With that, you’ll complete the Triumphant Frenzy event in Genshin Impact, and if you follow the recommended team, it’ll be easy to clear at the highest difficulty. For more on the game, check out our other guides:
