Genshin Impact Lion Dance Boy: Expected release date, leaked design, element, more

A new unannounced Genshin Impact character, Lion Dance Boy, has been leaked, and even though we know little about the character, he is already making rounds and has become one of the more anticipated characters. Here is everything we know about Lion Dance in Genshin Impact. 

New Genshin Impact characters becoming highly anticipated even before being officially announced isn’t really uncommon. Cloud Retainer isn’t confirmed to be playable, but leaks have already outlined much about her, including a potential release date of version 4.4. 

For Lion Dance Boy, we don’t even know his name, and “Lion Dance Boy” is a moniker given by the Genshin Impact community as his design was said to resemble the Chinese custom of Lion Dance. A little information about him has leaked, however. Here’s everything we know about Lion Dance Boy in Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact Lion Dance Boy expected release date

Lion Dance Boy is leaked to be playable, or to make an appearance, in Genshin Impact version 4.4. 

Version 4.4 is said to feature Lantern Rite, a yearly tradition for Liyue, and since Liyue is inspired by China, it makes sense that Lion Dance Boy will be in the version, at least in some form. Whether he’ll be part of the limited banner or just make an appearance remains to be seen.

A reliable leaker, GenshinMeow, leaked the official design of Lion Dance Boy in Genshin Impact.

Unfortunately, that’s the only solid image we have so far of Lion Dance Boy. We may get an official look at the characters through drip marketing, usually done a month or so before the official Special Program livestream. 

Genshin Impact Lion Dance Boy leaked Element 

Lion Dance Boy is a 4-star Pyro unit, according to leaks, but we have no idea about the weapon he wields in Genshin Impact.  The leaked image above shows him with a Pyro vision, so it is all the more likely that Lion Dance Boy is a Pyro character.

So far, we only had one leak about Lion Dance Boy’s kit in Genshin Impact.

The leak does not come from one of the reliable sources, so take it with a pinch of salt. It says that Lion Boy is a Plunging Attack character who can also buff other units by creating an “area.”

Version 4.4 is also the leaked schedule for Cloud Retainer, who is said to have some sort of Plunging Attack bonus-providing capabilities.
