Rise of the Ronin is an upcoming open-world, action RPG from Team Ninja. Despite placing a heavier focus on narrative, the title will retain many of the studio’s signature features, leading players to wonder if the game will have PvP. With this in mind, here’s everything to know about PvP in Rise of the Ronin.

Team Ninja are set to venture into the action RPG genre with Rise of the Ronin. Unlike their previous titles, the upcoming PS5 exclusive comes with different story paths, branching dialogue, and a sizable open world featuring faithful recreations of Japanese cities from the Edo period. The 19th-century adventure is certainly a departure from the studio’s prior titles, but it does retain some of their classic elements.

Players might be wondering whether the game will arrive with PvP, and allow online battles against other players. On that note, here’s everything to know about PvP in Rise of the Ronin.

Will Rise of the Ronin have PvP?

No, Rise of the Ronin will not have PvP, as confirmed by the FAQs on the game’s PlayStation store page. This means that players won’t be unable to engage in online battles against each other. The game does feature online multiplayer in the form of up to four-player co-op.

Rise of the Ronin will not have PvP at launch.

This may come as a surprise to players as Team Ninja’s most recent title, Wu Long: Fallen Dynasty, and even 2017’s Nioh, featured PvP. It remains to be seen if the devs consider adding the feature at some point in the future.
