Wondering whether Team Ninja’s newest title Rise of the Ronin will have multiplayer or not? Look no further, as here’s whether you can play co-op in Rise of the Ronin.

Team Ninja are back with yet another action title called Rise of the Ronin, after their massive success with Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. The devs are heading back to Japan, as the new title is set in the Bakumatsu period, where you will play as a rogue samurai, also known as a Ronin.

Unlike Team Ninja’s previous titles like Nioh and Wo Long, Rise of the Ronin is an open-world title heavily focused on exploration and strategy. This is why many wonder if it is possible to play co-op in the game to explore the lands together with a friend.

So, here’s whether Rise of the Ronin has multiplayer co-op.

Is there multiplayer co-op in Rise of the Ronin?

Yes, you can play Rise of the Ronin in multiplayer co-op as well as solo. However, keep in mind that online play is optional in the game and will only be possible if you have a PlayStation Plus subscription.

Rise of the Ronin supports multiplayer co-op.

Team Ninja have already mentioned the prerequisites for playing multiplayer co-op on the official Rise of the Ronin website. The game supports up to 3 players with a PlayStation Plus subscription, allowing them to defeat enemies in the massive open world together at the same time.

However, given multiplayer in Rise of the Ronin is optional and the game is mostly focused on single-player, there’s no scope for PvP, unlike other popular soulslikes like Elden Ring and Lords of the Fallen.

Despite Team Ninja haven’t yet revealed the exact manner of the multiplayer experience, you can expect something similar to that of Nioh and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty.

This was everything you need to know about multiplayer co-op in Rise of the Ronin. For more on the biggest upcoming games, check out other titles below:
