Nostalgic Fortnite players demand new feature to bring back NPC bosses

Old NPCs in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 are sorely missed by the Fortnite community, so fans have figured out a new way to bring them back to the map.

Fortnite players are used to the map overhaul that every new season brings to the table. However, fans can’t help but feel nostalgic when exploring old POIs, especially those that the “Myths and Mortals” just left deserted without any NPCs roaming around.

Since misery loves company, players gathered in a Reddit post titled “I missed them,” and suggested an interesting feature that Epic Games could use to give some life to otherwise abandoned places.

“It would be cool if the bosses from these areas stuck around as non-aggressive NPCs, even if all they do is talk,” commented a player. Others quickly agreed, saying that lots of users would gather around to interact with these NPCs since their POIs have become the safest places to drop.

Fortnite fans also thought this would mean that devs could add a deeper storyline for each character. Players felt that old NPCs could even give players some tips to defeat others, or simply just banter a bit with them and expand the current season’s story.

“I’m heartbroken I feel like I’ve lost old friends I used to see every day. I used to tell my son to land at lavish and blow Oscar’s whiskers off, he loved it,” a player commented.

Others think that Epic Games should directly remove every past POI since they feel “too empty” and almost useless. “Map’s in a really weird spot rn. Imo the new areas are by far the best on it & have brought some flair/variety that was desperately needed, but some drops like Lavish & Snooty feel kind of dead,” read a comment.

While Fortnite fans agreed that old POIs feel like “liminal spaces” after their season, they also pointed out that they provide great places to chill far away from fights. And not only that; some are even using the opportunity to explore POIs architecture and even said to find some interesting hidden pathways.

And that’s what feature Fortnite players would like to add to bring back old NPCs to Season 2. If you want to know more about Epic Games’ battle royale, check out the fan-favorite character players are glad to see again, and all Mythic weapons in the game.
