Fortnite receives regular updates to keep the experience fresh, so when will the next one arrive? Here’s everything we know about when the Fortnite 29.40 update will be released in Chapter 5 Season 2.

Epic Games are always releasing new Fortnite updates to ensure game modes like LEGO Fortnite and Festival as well as the main BR playlists stay fresh. While devs often keep their plans close to their chest, the schedule for the next patch has leaked ahead of time.

Here’s everything we know about when the next Fortnite update, v29.40, will arrive.

Fortnite 29.40 update release date leaked

According to leaks, the next Fortnite update is set to arrive on May 3, 2024, although this hasn’t been confirmed by Epic Games just yet. It will reportedly be the v29.40 update.

While it’s not yet confirmed what the update will bring, it will arrive just in time for the Star Wars Day celebrations. Leakers like Shiina revealed there are no encrypted files for this collaboration yet, meaning they will probably be added around May 3. The Avatar crossover ends on that same date.

Of course, it’s worth remembering that this is all based on leaks so far, so the plans could easily change, and the update could be pushed.

That was everything we know about when the next Fortnite update could arrive. We’ll be sure to update this page once any concrete details are confirmed.
