Fortnite players slam lackluster rewards for “crappy” end of season Quests
Epic GamesFortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 is almost over and is giving players new Takedown quests to get XP fast. However, many players think the rewards are not worth the hassle.
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 introduced players to a brand new map with many new POIs and fresh elements, like Mod Benches. While many of these new features were well received, others, like Society bosses, were heavily criticized by players for being annoying and “ruining the game.”
Now that the season is ending, and while players look forward to what’s coming next, Fortnite released new end-of-season quests to wrap up its latest storyline. However, due to the lackluster rewards, not many players believe Takedown quests are worth the grind.
Reddit user ‘HelpfulFgSuggestions’ stated, “Well, this is going to be a s**tshow…” while pointing out that Takedown quests ask players to eliminate four Society bosses.
While some players didn’t get OP’s point, another user explained the main issue with these objectives: “They’re implying that it’s gonna be a s**tshow at their locations, because a lot of people will try to do these quests asap.” Fortnite players have complained about Society bosses before, so they expect their POIs to be very crowded.
However, the biggest issue for some players is that these quests aren’t worth the effort. One user asked “Is there a great reward for doing all of them? If not, pass,” and another added, “Is there anything you get other than xp for doing all of them?” Some agreed that it’s just a “crappy reward for finishing them all.”
“You Get the first 3D lore related loading screen since god knows when If you complete 8 of the quests,” another player answered, which seems to be enough for a portion of the player base.
On the other hand, some Fortnite players are passing on the opportunity. “Yeah I won’t even bother, I’m gonna just do the last TMNT phase and bounce,” said one player, and another added, “Hard pass. I’m at 247 and done everything. Don’t need more XP at the end of the season.”
Lastly, some players shared some tips to clear Takedown quests quickly. Reddit user ‘Tempest8008’ commented, “Done already. Drop hot. One pickaxe and dip QUICK. Car to the next one. I got Oscar and Val in one match.” Another player suggested to “Wait until after the weekend, then it’s easy. No need to rush.”
