Fortnite players think Bosses are ruining the game

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 added many fresh elements to the battle royale, but players had enough of Society Bosses ruining matches for them.

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 keeps players on their toes with Weekly Quests and collaborations with other franchises in the Battle Pass. While not many embraced the brand-new train, the current map has many interesting locations for players to explore and use to their advantage when all hell breaks loose.

However, not everything is sitting well with players, and Society Bosses are at the center of many complaints. These NPCs are stationed in named locations around the map, and players who defeat them can get a Society Medallion that regenerates their shield at the cost of revealing their position on the map. Society Medallions also open this season’s vaults, which is something players want to change.

Reddit user ‘Ella’ shared a meme on the Fortnite battle royale subreddit, depicting what they feel is a “summary of this season:”

The Microsoft Paint picture shows players camping outside a vault, waiting for another player to defeat the tough Boss so they can then steal the Medallion and all rewards. Fortnite players quickly joined the post to share their frustration with a situation they feel repeats in almost every match: “This is why I don’t go after bosses in solos, because if you don’t camp you’re 99% gonna die.”

“Every season since Bosses were added,” commented a player, and another added: “First season I played you had vault NPCs that were peaceful until attacked. Next season they made them auto-aggro. Now we have this s**t. Christ, just let me hunt other players organically.”

Reddit user ‘woahdude12321’ shared a suggestion to end this issue once and for all: “They gotta make the boss health level not show up to anyone but who’s fighting them, it makes it wayyy too easy. That’s the main piece of why this happens.”

Looking from a different angle, another player commented: “Imagine if the game had proximity chat. The convos with vault campers would make for some hilarious clips.”

Players are “desperately hoping for no bosses/mythical next season,” so we’ll let you know if Epic Games decides to change the way Society Bosses work in Chapter 5.

In the meantime, you can check how to get Cardboard Box and how to get EMP Stealth Camo in the game now that the Metal Gear Solid collab has gone live.
