In a surprising move, Epic Games have decided to remove all Trios modes ahead of Fortnite’s Ranked Play arrival, and this decision has sparked a wave of fury and discontent among the popular battle royale title’s community.

Trios is a game mode in Fortnite that allows teams of three players to hop into a match together, and it has been a favorite among the community since its introduction back in Chapter 2 Season 5. Players enjoyed the strategic elements and teamwork required to succeed in Trios.

However, since the FNCS has switched to Duos this year, the developers have introduced Ranked Play in Fortnite and removed all Trios modes following the 24.40 update patch. This decision has not been received well by players.

Reddit user ‘SafalinEnthusiast’ created a post discussing the removal of Trios in the Fortnite subreddit, and they made it clear that they’re not happy with this decision. They explained that they have two other friends that they regularly play Trios with, and this is a disappointing development.

The Redditor asked: “Who would this benefit at all? The players? No, they won’t be benefiting from this change. Epic? The game has been gaining more players for a while now, so they wouldn’t need the extra server space. I don’t see any viable reason behind this change.”

They stated that they will not be playing Chapter 4, Season 3 of Fortnite if this change isn’t reverted by then. In the comments of this thread, many other players also expressed their disappointment and frustration with the removal of Trios.

One user commented: “It makes no sense for them to do this. This reminds me of when Trios weren’t even a thing and we had to wait for them to add it. Now, we’re taking steps backward.” Another described this decision as an “awful move” by the developers.

Most of the comments were about how players regularly play Trios with their friends, and this change has made it so that one teammate will now have to be left out of games. Many expressed their hope that this “bizarre” change will be reverted soon.
