Kevin the Cube is back in Fortnite thanks to the OG Season, but players are disappointed since the iconic character is missing a key feature on the island. Here’s what Fortnite fans are talking about

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 5, better known as Fortnite OG, is celebrating some of the best seasons in the battle royale’s history. Players can jump onto the island to enjoy the OG map alongside classic weapons, returning vehicles, and much more. The nostalgia-filled season already broke records on launch and it doesn’t look like it’s slowing down any time soon.

The November 9 update expanded the weapon and item pool by bringing back key elements from Chapter 1 Seasons 6 and 7. What’s more, Epic Games also brought Kevin the Cube back, but not all players are happy with its return.

The Cube that played an important role through different seasons in Chapter 1 can be seen in Loot Lake, but Fortnite fans were quick to spot a big issue with it. “Kevin doesn’t interact with the player anymore,” wrote Reddit user ‘-N0obmaster69.‘ In their clip, the player shoots Kevin the Cube repeatedly, but nothing happens. Hardcore fans remember they got struck by lightning if they attacked Kevin in Chapter 1.

“Then it’s not Kevin, that’s a whole imposter,” joked a Reddit user, and another added, “He’s just going through a lot right now. Let him be, he’ll cheer up eventually.”

While many players are disappointed Kevin the Cube doesn’t interact with the player in any way in Fortnite OG, no one knows if it’s something intentional or an issue that might be fixed later. Others think that bringing back all of Kevin’s features could have been a development nightmare for Epic Games and their testers, and it’s not really worth it for a season that lasts less than a month.

On the other hand, another group of Fortnite fans believe this is intentional. “Theory this isn’t the original timeline,” commented one Reddit user. “That’s why some things are different on the map and the fusion skins,” explained another user, referring to the revamped Battle Pass skins. Some players believe that time is unstable, and we’ll see even more differences like this with upcoming updates.

Whether this is an issue or part of Epic Games’ masterplan for the OG Season, it remains to be seen. In the meantime, make sure to make the most of the season by checking all available Weekly Quests and the best landing spots this season.
