Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 is still going strong with new content being added almost weekly, but players are fed up with the current meta and are demanding changes to overpowered snipers.

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 is in full swing, giving players the chance to explore a brand-new map with a moving train. Its packed Battle Pass has many skins as well as cars and highly anticipated collaborations, giving players much to do in this new era for the battle royale.

Fortnite‘s gameplay also added many new elements, like the Society Medallions, new weapons, and mods that completely changed the way players interact with weapons. And while many of these changes were mostly embraced by the community, many think it’s time for some balance changes to the current meta.

In a Reddit post, user ‘airogum’ sarcastically stated, “Snipers are so fun to play against,” while sharing a clip where they’re killed by a single sniper shot when in full health and shield. Other Fortnite players joined the conversation to confirm that “Snipers are OP regardless of what mode you’re playing.”

While many players complain about the snipers’ firepower in Chapter 5 Season 1, others are enjoying using them to decimate enemies in the battle royale and Zero Build modes. “I know for a fact that I can two-shot body shot anyone no matter how much health they have lol,” stated a player.

Some Reddit users consider themselves sniper players and are glad the different options are as powerful as they are now. However, others stated that there’s no such thing as a “sniper player” since “it’s a must-use gun right now” thanks to the current meta.

On the other hand, user ‘JustaLyinTometa’ shared some ways the sniper meta could shift in Chapter 5 Season 1: “I really miss snipers being more rare and having one bullet before reloading. I feel like that balanced them out more. Now every game I play in zero build is just snipers and having potentially 5 shots before reloading is just hell to deal with,” the player commented.

To this suggestion, another user replied, “Snipers with one bullet like the OG Bolt should one-shot and snipers with multiple like the Reaper and Hunter shouldn’t.” While many agreed, it remains to be seen if Epic Games will apply some meta changes before the season ends in March.

That’s what the Fortnite community thinks of the current sniper meta. We’ll keep you updated if there are any changes to snipers in the coming weeks.
