Modern Warfare 2 players have been desperate for Flashbangs to be nerfed, and the devs have confirmed they’re finally less powerful following the Season 3 Reloaded update.

Tactical Equipment is extremely important in Call of Duty, as throwing Semtex’s, Stun Grenades, and Flashbangs not only damage and disorient your opponents but the hitmarkers offer information.

However, ever since launch, Modern Warfare 2 players have been desperate for Flash Grenades to be nerfed, as they were the most powerful they had ever been in Call of Duty. While the Inverted Flash setting made them easier on the eyes, they were no less powerful in-game.

Luckily, major changes have arrived with Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Season 3, the devs have confirmed that Flashbangs have finally been nerfed in the update.

Flashbangs nerfed in Modern Warfare 2 & Warzone 2

In a creator call attended by CharlieIntel ahead of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Season 3, the devs confirmed that the flash effect duration has been reduced across both games.

While the patch notes don’t reveal the exact change in duration, they confirm that it has been reduced.

Plus, specific to Warzone 2, the Flash Grenade has had its “One hit kill radius against fully armored Players reduced.”

Now, the Flash Grenade shouldn’t leave you defenseless for so long, and with their power being reduced, perhaps they’ll be less common in multiplayer matches.

This should also increase the effectiveness of the Battle Hardened Perk, which was another complaint that surrounded Flash Grenades’ power. With the flashbang’s duration being lessened, Battle Hardened should reduce the blinding effect to only a split second.

We’ll have to wait and see how much of an effect this has, but the devs seem aware that players felt they were too powerful.

The Flash Grenade nerf comes alongside major changes to movement, one-shot Sniper Rifles in Warzone 2, the fan-favorite Gunfight mode, and the Trophy Hunt event.
