The Diablo 4 community reported that Helltide events have been spawning fewer and fewer chests after the Season 2 update. Here’s what the Diablo 4 players have been talking about.

Diablo 4 Season 2’s latest updates have been well received by fans overall since they introduced new endgame bosses, Unique Items, and highly-requested gameplay mechanics. However, fans have been noticing some glitches that have been spoiling Helltide events.

Players reported that the random chests that usually spawn during Helltides haven’t been appearing at all, and even with the help of external sources, these highly sought stashes are nowhere to be found.

“The chest not showing has got so much worse for me the last couple of days. Just spent the last 10m with my 300 embers zoning in and out, teleporting, and even relogging to try and get the chest to show up,” explained Redditor Ut-oh-i-fell on a post called “Helltide chests have got way worse.”

A lot of other Diablo 4 players described the same situation happening to them and said that this has been a major obstacle when trying to farm Living Steel, which only appears while a Helltide is active and is needed to summon one of Season of Blood’s new endgame bosses.

Diablo 4 Helltide notification
Players will receive a notification when a Helltide event starts.

“The crazy part of this bug is that you have to know about it and literally need helltides.com to play Helltides at all. Without a third-party website, you’d never know if you just can’t find the chests or if they bugged, and you need to reload the map,” pointed out Reddit user CorpPhoenix.

While some fans said that logging out and reloading the game has helped them to fix the problem, they recognize that Helltides chests not spawning just ruins the nature of a timed event. “It’s so much worse when you realize that blizzard expects you to run around with your 300 embers,” said Redditor Actwentysix.

Blizzard haven’t said anything about the Helltides chest bugs nor reported the problem in the 1.2.2 update patch notes.

“From a dev perspective, it’s there’s something high visibility and high impact like this that hasn’t been fixed quickly, there’s usually some nightmare-fuel client/server interaction behind it,” pointed out Reddit user thebesthingsinlife, “Would be nice if they’d comment on it though, even a “we’re aware of the issue, it’s complicated, we’re working on it.”

We’ll keep you updated if Blizzard addresses this Diablo 4 Season 2 Helltide chests bug. In the meantime, you can check how many players are still enjoying Diablo 4 and how to fix all Diablo 4 Error codes during Season of Blood.
