Simple Diablo 4 trick is a complete game-changer

A battle in Diablo 4

Diablo 4 players have complained about the game having a super cluttered UI, especially considering the damage numbers that show up in a fight. But there is a simple trick you can use to change your game.

UI design in Diablo 4 has been an issue since the beta, but Blizzard has worked on making significant changes to the game which included a patch addressing some UI issues in March.

Despite this, though, there are some existing problems that make the game frustrating to play. This includes the mess of numbers that appear on the screen when you’re damaging an enemy.

The problem with this kind of design is that, especially for players who have impaired sight, it becomes increasingly difficult to actually see what’s going on on your screen. It goes without saying that this is a major problem in a game like Diablo 4.

There is an easy way to fix this, though, and all you need to do is turn your damage numbers off. You can do this by following the steps below:

  1. Go the ‘Game’ tab when you’re on the map menu.
  2. Select Options.
  3. Navigate to the Gameplay tab and toggle ‘Show Damage Numbers’ off

Players who have used this trick have said that they are never going back after using it for a while. “I turned it off season 1 and after getting used to it for a day, I’ve never gone back,” ‘bdanred’ shared on Reddit

With damage numbers turned off, other players said that the game feels more immersive and a little smoother to play overall.

The only issue with using this setting is that you may not have a good idea of how much damage you are doing in real time. But this is easily solved by paying attention to your enemy’s health bars.

Diablo 4 Season 4 is coming soon, so we may see some more changes coming to make your screen less cluttered, or overall quality-of-life improvements to the UI. In the meantime, make sure to try this trick out for yourself to see how it works for you.
