Warzone devs introduced a new game update on March 19, which implemented several changes to the Gulag that players had been requesting since the Season 1 Reloaded update was released.

Season 2 Reloaded is fully underway in Warzone, bringing a ton of content. This includes the SOA Subverter BR and Soulrender Melee, a new POI in Fortune’s Keep, and multiple gun adjustments.

Additionally, the devs introduced an update on March 19 carrying further buffs and nerfs to popular meta picks, as well as introducing highly requested Gulag changes. The Season 1 Reloaded update welcomed a night version of Urzikstan’s Gulag, where players had to fight while using NVG.

However, players quickly slammed this new addition, stating the night Gulag prevented them from seeing enemies and criticized the inclusion of default lasers in all the Gulag’s loadouts.

Luckily, after a long wait, the Warzone devs decided to disable the Night Vision Gulag and remove the laser attachments, replacing the Gulag loadouts.

Below CharlieIntel’s post sharing the news, a user cheered the removal of lasers, “Gulag with lasers… Just another on a long list of stupid decisions to make the game unenjoyable.” Another user added, “Finally, whoever thought lasers and night gulags was necessary needs to learn to use their headphones. Was wack as hell.”

To keep the game fresh, Warzone devs often experiment with new ideas within established features that have consistently functioned as intended. However, players have been eagerly anticipating these Gulag changes since the beginning of the Urzikstan chapter.

Given the Gulag’s key role in reintroducing players to the game, many felt that imposing restrictions detracted from the skill-based nature of the 1v1 showdown, transforming it into a luck battle.
