Warzone players sick of “boring” midgame leading to overcrowded final circles

Most Warzone players want to survive as long as possible in the hope of being the last man standing but many feel most are just sitting back to achieve it, making the battle royale “boring” until the very end.

Warzone is currently in Season 2 after MW3 integration, and the season brought tons of new things from guns to brand-new modes, as well as several balancing changes. Regardless of the many changes, players often lean toward the best weapons and strategies that can net them a top finish.

Unlike Fortune’s Keep, Urzikstan is a pretty big map, which means low combat encounters, and plenty of safe places to avoid gunfights. Some players aren’t happy with how it is playing out as they feel many are opting out of fights until the very end, all resulting in an “extremely bad and boring gameplay.”

Reddit user BigBlueTrekker made a post on the CODWarzone subreddit, saying there are “too many people in the final circle.” The OP wrote, “I feel like mid-game is constantly running to get in the circle. Then the final circles there are still like 20 teams left.”

Plenty of players agreed with the OP and listed the reasons why they feel that’s the case. As a user wrote, “I hate this too. It’s because of the overabundance of buildings. It’s boring.” Another user echoed the same, asking devs to change the map design “Stop implementing these tall buildings in these big cities, it makes for extremely bad and boring gameplay…”

Outside of the Warzone map design, many players suggested it is because there are too many options for getting back into the fight: “Selfies, flares, redeploys, gulag tokens, cash, jailbreak almost every game… all incredibly common. On top of that, [Urzikstan] plays super ratty, [and] most of the lobby sits back on rooftops, trying to third-party other fights.”

Others more or less said the same, “It is a result of practical free and limitless redeployments.” Some, meanwhile, said they find the hectic closing circle more fun, “I actually kinda like this… Sure, it can be frustrating sometimes, but it sure beats the boringness of the Apex matches where there’s no one to shoot.”

If you prefer fast-paced Resurgence gameplay like in Fortune’s Keep then it’s good news as Season 3 leaks suggest the fan-favorite Rebirth Island map is coming soon.
