Warzone guru claims classic AR is “finally the best” after buff

After the October 23 Warzone update, expert Metaphor is claiming that a classic weapon is now the “best AR in the game,” sharing their meta loadout for the gun.

Warzone is in its final update ahead of Modern Warfare 3‘s release, and the October 23 patch brought some interesting balancing changes.

In the update, many weapons were tweaked, including nerfs to some of the most popular including the Kastov 762 and TR-76 Geist. However, one classic AR was buffed, and Warzone expert Metaphor has shared his loadout for the weapon, which they are claiming is now “the best AR in the game.”

The gun in question is the M4, a classic Call of Duty weapon which has had many variations. Despite not being the most meta weapon during Warzone 2’s lifespan, the M4 has been a solid pick throughout. However, now it may be the AR’s time to shine, as Metaphor claims the recent buffs have boosted the M4’s power dramatically.

The M4 received buffs to its close-to-mid-range damage, making it more efficient in those close and mid-ranged fights. To help players take advantage of these buffs, Metaphor shared his best loadout for the M4.

Metaphor’s best Warzone M4 loadout

• Barrel: Hightower 20″ Barrel
• Muzzle: Cronen OP44
• Underbarrel: FTAC Ripper 56
• Magazine: 45 Round Mag
• Optic: Aim OP-V4

To kick things off, Metaphor opts for the Hightower 20″ Barrel to improve the Warzone M4’s damage range and bullet velocity. The Cronen OP44 is a great muzzle choice for reducing the weapon’s vertical and horizontal recoil.

The FTAC Ripper 56 will help stabilize the weapon, allowing you to hit more shots, while the 45 Round Mag gives you the leeway to finish off enemies. Finally, the Aim OP-V4 is a nice clean sight for close and medium-ranged gunfights, which is where the M4 excels.

One of the reasons Metaphor claims this weapon is so powerful is because it has “the same damage to limbs as it does anywhere else,” so you won’t get penalized for hitting the arms and legs.

Definitely make sure you give this loadout a try if you’re looking for a new Assault Rifle to dominate with in Warzone, as it’s especially good on the smaller maps such as Vondel.
