Warzone’s close-range meta has been turned on its head after the Season 1 Reloaded update and the nerf to the WSP Swarm. Luckily, CoD expert Swagg has revealed which SMG has benefitted most and can rival the AMR9 with its “insane” TTK.

The Warzone Season 1 Reloaded update shook up the meta in a number of ways thanks to a whole host of buffs and nerfs. However, players were disappointed to see that certain guns that dominated the game were left untouched, such as the MTZ Interceptor and WSP Swarm.

Just a few days later though, the devs answered the call and nerfed both weapons, leaving huge shoes to fill at the top of the close-range meta in particular. Players quickly flocked to the AMR9, which has become the go-to replacement for the Swarm.

That said, Warzone guru FaZe Swagg has highlighted another SMG that could give it a run for its money ahead of Season 2.

In his January 22 video, Swagg claimed that the Striker 9 is the new “best SMG” in the game after it received a substantial buff in Season 1 Reloaded. Both its minimum damage and close-to-mid-range damage were increased, making it ideal as a Sniper support weapon.

Swagg claimed that the Striker 9 is “absolutely insane” after the patch, especially when paired with the new JAK BFB Muzzle, which gives it so much extra recoil control that it’s “too broken.” Check out his Striker-9 loadout in Warzone below.

Swagg’s best Striker 9 loadout in Warzone

  • Barrel: Striker Elite Long Barrel
  • Muzzle: JAK BFB
  • Stock: No Stock
  • Ammunition: 9mm High Grain Rounds
  • Magazine: 50 Round Drum

As mentioned above, the key to Swagg’s best Striker 9 loadout is the JAK BFB Muzzle, as it offers plenty of recoil control buffs to keep the SMG shooting straight. However, the tradeoff is that it also marks you on the map similar to an Advanced UAV when firing.

Elsewhere, the Striker Elite Long Barrel and 9mm High Grain Rounds improve the bullet velocity to make it more effective at mid-range, while the No Stock attachment makes the ADS speed much quicker to ensure you’re always landing the first shot.

To finalize the build Swagg went for the 50 Round Drum, allowing you to gun down multiple enemies before having to reload.

So, although the AMR9 and new HRM-9 have become the dominant SMGs in Warzone, don’t sleep on the Striker 9 as it has all the makings of a top-tier close-range gun. For more on Warzone, check out some of our guides:
