Wondering how to turn off the Warzone and Modern Warfare 2 The Haunting jump scares? Here’s everything you need to know.

The spirit of Halloween has been brought to Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone through The Haunting event update, which has introduced a plethora of October 31-themed content.

From the Soul Capture event, which promises exclusive Halloween rewards, to The Butcher Diablo 4 boss in battle royale, both Warzone and MW2 players can get their fix of the spooky season with The Haunting event.

In addition to content like new Operators and nighttime maps, players may also notice some pretty shocking jump scares here and there. If these are a bit too intense for you, there is a way you can disable them. Here’s everything you need to know about turning off jump scares in MW2 and Warzone.

Can you turn off jump scares in Warzone & MW2 The Haunting?

You can turn off the Battle Pass jump scares in both Warzone and Modern Warfare 2, however, there is currently no way for players to turn off the looting jump scares in the battle royale.

Jump scares are pretty shocking in MW2 and Warzone.

If you wish to turn off the Battle Pass jump scares, follow these steps:

  1. Boot up either MW2 or Warzone.
  2. Got to the Battle Pass menu.
  3. Press L2/LT to turn the Battle Pass jump scares off (prompt on the top left of the screen).
  4. Jump scares will now be disabled for the Battle Pass but in-game scares remain on.

Players are finding the in-game loot jump scares in Warzone far too loud, but unfortunately, there is no way to turn these off, as this setting only disables the scares in the Battle Pass menu. That said, the devs did reduce the frequency of them occurring.

We’ll keep you updated and let you know if anything changes, as the devs could also implement a way to turn off the in-game jump scares for Warzone players if complaints continue.

Until then, make sure you check out why MW2 players are slamming The Haunted event content.
