MW2 weapons are back in the meta for Warzone, and one forgotten MW2 rifle is actually a top Sniper support option thanks to a buff in the Season 3 Reloaded update.

The FR Avancer was introduced back in Modern Warfare 2, and it’s been completely ignored in MW3 and Warzone for the most part. Despite being reminiscent of the iconic Famas from previous CoD titles, it’s failed to break the meta, but that might change thanks to buffs in Season 3 Reloaded.

In fact, the FR Avancer is now a top Sniper support option thanks to its incredible fire rate and easy-to-control recoil, especially with the right attachments.

The FR Avancer had its near-mid, mid, and minimum damage increased, allowing it to perform much better in these ranges.

These buffs allow it to dominate medium-ranged battles with great accuracy and range, and it’s not too shabby when it comes to close quarters either, as its rapid-fire rate does a lot of the leg work.

This makes the FR Avanacer a great Sniper support choice, and popular Warzone content creator WhosImmortal agrees, as he included the MW2 rifle in his close-range meta loadouts YouTube video on May 13, 2024.

WhosImmortal said, the FR Avancer is “better than ever,” warning players not to sleep on the gun, as it’s actually “competitive across the board for Sniper support.”

So, if you’re looking for a new weapon to pair with your XRK Stalker, MORS, or KATT-AMR, definitely give the FR Avancer a go. Or, perhaps you’re looking for an SMG to replace the nerfed HRM-9.
