A new Call of Duty game means a ton of promotion ahead of its launch, and Black Ops 6 is no different. However, CoD players are sick of BO6’s “aggressive” advertising within the game’s menus.

The hype surrounding the release of Black Ops 6 on October 25 is growing, with players enjoying an intense and cryptic marketing campaign culminating in a deep dive reveal during the Xbox Games Showcase on June 9.

However, with the reveal of the next premium CoD title, pre-orders went live, leading to the Call of Duty HQ being filled with “aggressive” advertising for BO6, which didn’t go down well since the all-incomposing app is already hated by many due to its intricate menus.

In a Reddit post, user ‘Character-Acrobatic’ shared their frustration, noting that every time they enter the “game [they] paid $70 for” they need to “scroll to past advertisements” for a game that is releasing in 4 months. Despite remarking this has been “going on for years” they feel it’s “getting worse.”

Agreeing with the OP, another user added, “The fact they place it above the actual section to enter the game is f**king annoying.”

Some users wanted to distinguish between MW3 and free-to-play Warzone players, however, they agreed that no player should tolerate the “advertisement ON top of the section to access the game.” Additionally, they stressed that with BO6 coming out in October and not “in a couple of weeks,” all they had to do was add it at the bottom.

However, user ‘CptMeat’ offered a contrasting opinion to the OP. Despite acknowledging that “Activision is sleezy for a million other reasons,” they emphasized that this is happening in the CoD hub, which includes all the latest titles. In this context, they argued, “it makes perfect sense that the newest game goes on the top of the list.”

On the same note, user ‘INeedANerf’ noted the Call of Duty HQ is “just a hub for CoD at this point, so it’s not that unusual they’d show you ads for the next CoD in it.”

Despite a ton of content already revealed regarding Black Ops 6’s modes, like the Campaign storyline, characters, and more additional details will be shared during the CoD Next event on August 28, including the multiplayer and Zombies.
