During an interview, Black Ops 6 devs confirmed Sniper Rifles will have one-shot capabilities, albeit with a catch.

The hype for Black Ops 6 has reached new heights after its global reveal at the Xbox Games Showcase on June 9, with players already pre-ordering all the available editions of the new Black Ops installment.

Among the weapons arsenal, players will have all the traditional categories, including the powerful Sniper Rifles, which allow them to take down enemies from afar or enjoy the classic quickscoping action.

On this note, during an interview with VentureBeat, the devs confirmed that all Sniper Rifles in BO6 will be “one shot torso up.” However, the category’s guns will feature “different characteristics as far as slow fire, fast fire, recoil” which might vary their effectiveness.

While nailing the accuracy to consistently land torso-up shots can take some practice, by mastering it and equipping the right attachments with the game’s loadout system, players could find sniping highly enjoyable in BO6’s multiplayer, regardless of their gameplay approach.

In Call of Duty‘s history, Snipers have become exceptionally popular, primarily because their high-risk gameplay can deliver high rewards. The ability to eliminate opponents with a single shot while minimizing exposure is crucial for gaining an advantage in any MP mode.

This trend continues in Warzone, where the weapon category proves even more effective due to the large map sizes. However, during the interview the devs only discussed multiplayer, leaving Snipers‘ specifics in Warzone unaddressed, indicating that more details will be provided at the CoD Next 2024 on August 28.

Similarly, Black Ops 6’s multiplayer is set for a massive reveal during the CoD Next event, possibly revealing more information regarding how many Snipers players will have available to use, as well as seeing some of them in action.
