Warzone 2 expert claims classic rifle is “best AR” in Season 4 after secret buff

Warzone 2 players have been flocking to the Lachmann-556 in Season 4, but CoD guru Metaphor believes a secret buff to an old favorite has actually made it the “best AR” in the game.

The Warzone 2 Season 4 update shook up the meta in a number of interesting ways, after introducing two new weapons and a major health increase. It also brought a ton of buffs and nerfs, knocking formerly meta guns like the ISO Hemlock down the rankings.

Since the new season went live, the Lachmann-556 has been the go-to Assault Rifle in Warzone 2, thanks to its low recoil and effectiveness over long range. However, Warzone 2 expert Metaphor has claimed that players are sleeping on the game’s number one Assault Rifle after it received a hidden buff in Season 4.

In his July 6 video, Metaphor explained that while the M4 hasn’t officially received any improvements, the classic rifle feels much better this season, and he named it the “best AR” in Warzone 2.

“This gun has gotten indirectly buffed. I don’t know if it has received an actual change in a while, but this gun feels great,” said the YouTuber. “The fire rate feels amazing, so I highly recommend trying this gun.”

Metaphor’s best M4 loadout in Warzone 2 Season 4

Muzzle: Sakin Tread-40
Barrel: Hightower 20″ Barrel
Optic: Cronen Mini Dot
Underbarrel: FTAC Ripper 56
Magazine: 45 Round Mags

Metaphor kicked off his best M4 Warzone 2 loadout with the Sakin Tread-40 muzzle, which curbs much of the Assault Rifle’s recoil to keep it laser-accurate. He paired it with the Hightower 20″ Barrel for improved range bullet velocity, making it extremely effective over longer distances.

Then, he went for the Cronen Mini Dot for a clean optic that doesn’t obstruct your view, but this can be swapped for your preferred sight. He also added the FTAC Ripper 56 for improved recoil stabilization, keeping the M4 on target during sustained fire.

Finally, he equipped 45 Round Mags to ensure you can deal with multiple enemies before having to take a break and reload.

With this setup, Metaphor believed that the M4 has what it takes to rival the Lachmann-566 as the best Assault Rifle in Warzone 2, and advised players to take it for a spin.
