How to unlock Pickaxe Melee weapon in Modern Warfare 2 & Warzone 2 Season 5 Reloaded
ActivisionWarzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 Season 5 Reloaded introduces a brand-new Melee weapon to the game. Here’s how you can unlock the Pickaxe for both titles.
Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Season 5 Reloaded lands on August 30, bringing a fresh update for both the multiplayer and battle royale experiences. As well as a new Resurgence map being thrown into the rotation, players will also be getting some new Operators and weapons.
Of these weapons, not only will players get a new competitive SMG and tactical Sidearm in the Lachmann Shroud and 9mm Daemon, but the devs have also thrown a new Melee weapon into the mix.
This new Melee weapon arriving in Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 Season 5 Reloaded is the Pickaxe, and for those wondering how to obtain it, here’s everything you need to know about getting it unlocked.
How to unlock Pickaxe in Warzone 2 & Modern Warfare 2
You can unlock the Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 Pickaxe Melee weapon by completing an unlock challenge that requires players to get 15 Operator kills with Melee weapons.
This challenge is a part of the classified Sector E0 challenges in the Season 5 Battle Pass, which will be available for players to complete after the Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Season 5 Reloaded update goes live.
This classified Battle Pass Sector includes all three of the new weapons being introduced in the Season 5 Reloaded update, and if players would like to earn the final prize, the Lachmann Shroud, they must also complete the Pickaxe unlock challenge, as well as the 9mm Daemon’s.
The Pickaxe Melee weapon is described on the Call of Duty Season 5 Reloaded blog as a “heavy-duty Melee Weapon” that “enables quiet and deadly operations behind enemy lines with best-in-class damage and range.”
This Pickaxe is a must for those who enjoy taking out enemy Operators in style, as pulling off kills with Melee weapons in hand-to-hand combat is something of a specialist skill.
