Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 launched with plenty of weapons to choose from and even more have made their way to the games with the Season 2 update.

Throughout the entirety of Season 1, Warzone 2 players were stuck with the RPK and Fennec meta. Thankfully, it seems like the Season 2 update is set to rid players of this stale meta by introducing buffs and nerfs to Warzone 2’s weapons.

RPK & Fennec hit with nerfs in Warzone 2 Season 2

This should not come as a surprise to Warzone 2 players, but the RPK and Fennec received some major nerfs. They have been the two most popular weapons in Warzone 2 since launch, and players have been calling for a change to the stale meta.

With the Season 2 update, the devs have decreased the damage of the Fennec SMG, and the damage, range, and ADS time of the RPK. It’ll be interesting to see if these changes will be enough to lead to the rise of a more varied weapon meta in Warzone 2.

Weapon Tuning Update

Our goal for Weapon Tuning has always been to deliver an experience that provides Players with deep customization for their favorite weapons: building a unique loadout for a precise personal playstyle. After examining Weapon Tuning in Season 01, we want to offer more value for Players by elevating the pros and reducing the cons of Tuning attributes. We are committed to making the system more rewarding for players going forward, without sacrificing overall weapon balance across the game.
