Baldur’s Gate 3 player finds hilariously easy way to cheese tough boss fight

There are many ways Baldur’s Gate 3 lets players deal with bosses, and not all of them are serious. Sometimes you need to get creative to handle tough fights, and even though they may be cheesy, those solutions are worth it.

Balthazar is a titular Baldur’s Gate 3 character who is responsible for helping Ketheric Thorm trap the Nightsong (Dame Aylin). You first come across him in Act 2, and he is definitely a sight to behold

If you decide to save the Nightsong, then you will have to defeat Balthazar first. The fight can be tough, especially because Balthazar resurrects a ton of skeletons to fight alongside him.

One player, however, found an easy way to cheese the fight. “I turned Balthasar into a sheep before he noticed me and shoved the sheep down a cliff, avoiding the fight completely,” ‘GamersOriginal’ said in a post on Reddit.

Before triggering the conversation and subsequent fight with Balthazar, the OP used Polymorph on him to turn him into a sheep. Polymorph is a Level 4 spell that allows players to turn a target into a sheep.

Once Balthazar had been made redundant, the player pushed him off the side of the cliff and the battle was won. They didn’t have to deal with his army of skeletons, either.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players in the comments loved the idea and shared their own ways of dealing with Balthazar. “An alternative way to “cheese” Balthazar that gets mentioned here a lot is to unlock the door he’s hiding behind in the gauntlet and let him fight the undead justiciars for you,” one player explained.

Another fan pointed out that if you have it handy, Telekinesis will have the same effect as Polymorph. “You can just Telekinesis him off the edge before the dialogue triggers,” they said.

Overall, though, players appreciated that the OP got creative with the fight, and some would be interested to try “The Baaaalthazar method” for themselves.
