A quirky Baldur’s Gate 3 player managed to finish a full run being shapeshifted as a cat and shared its feline details for you to do the same if you dare take this challenge.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is still full of surprises to be discovered by ambitious and adventurous players who are willing to try everything to have fun. And a game as large as BG3 offers thousands of ways to reach the end-game.

So when players create their own characters, they never know where the story or their decisions will take them. That’s why one inspired Druid player decided: if the game allows it, why not play as a cat?

This was posted by Reddit user ‘ProxyGateTactician’ in Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit, and the whole community got tremendously excited about trying this challenge for themselves.

The OP also offered some feline advice for players who want to conduct some furry shenanigans throughout Faerûn.

The most impressive things ‘ProxyGateTactician’ did as a cat in Baldur’s Gate 3 included: falling from every height and taking only 1 point of damage, meowing enemies to lure them away from groups into a full party ambush, killing Raphael (one of the strongest bosses in the game) since he cannot defend against a cat, among others.

One of the players who enjoyed the OP’s cat way to play BG3 stated: “Did you just “stray” BG3? Just awesome!” While another one also complemented this user’s advice: “I didn’t know about like 2% of the things you could do as a cat in the game. Thank you!”

Speaking with Animals in Baldur's Gate 3
Cats are prideful and treacherous even in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Meanwhile, another impressed player also commended the devs for allowing such freedom of choice in a game:

“It is still impressive. I speak about your effort here. However, the same is very true for the devs’ efforts, too. Most games barely support one playstyle, here we have a game with so many different playstyles in your usual human form, but that does not drop the ball for the cat too… or does drop the ball for the cat, come to think of it, lol.”

So there you have it, you can play as a cat in Baldur’s Gate 3. Next time you do a run, you might want to try this for yourself. And in case you are wondering how to help some of the many critters in the game, here’s how to aid the Rat to steal the cheese, and here’s a simple trick to speak with animals in BG3.
