Apex Legends players are reacting to the teased Charge Rifle rework, which many want to see “deleted,” or at least stripped of its hit-scan capabilities.

The Charge Rifle is one of Apex Legends’ most notorious and recognizable weapons. This is not only because of its unique appearance and hit-scan potential but also due to its reputation in the community.

Ultimately, the Charge Rifle is weapon that can completely and utterly destroy enemies from crazy ranges due to its hit-scan nature. Just simply place your reticle on an enemy at any range and the laser beam will hit the opponent, even if they are flying through the sky.

A weapon like this can, of course, be frustrating for players, as they are beamed out of the sky by a weapon that’s considered very easy to use.

Luckily, for those who aren’t fans of the Charge Rifle, the devs have teased a rework for the weapon that will likely be arriving in Season 18, along with the leaked rework for Revenant.

The rework seems to hint at a complete change to the way the weapon works, as there’s a “new trigger activation switch” and “redesigned compensator valves” with a “concentrated projectile.”

There’s not much to go off, but players have been reacting to the teased rework under Alpha Intels post, and some seem to want the weapon gone from the game, as one reply said: “Hopefully its deleted.”

Another player on Reddit shared a similar opinion, as they said: “It’s always gonna be annoying. plus it’s easy to learn, s**t just needs to be deleted.”

While it’s unlikely that the weapon will be completely “deleted” from the game due to it being an established Sniper with many skins that players would have purchased or earned, the rework will probably completely change the way the weapon works, and may even make it more like the “select fire Havoc.”

The teaser mentions a “concentrated projectile,” which could imply a change away from the hit-scan for the Charge Rifle, essentially removing that aspect of the weapon from the game.

We’ll have to wait and see what happens, as nothing is confirmed yet. However, the most likely result is a rework and leaker Thordan Smash even thinks there’s a possibility of a name change to “project rail gun,” but this is just speculation so take it with a pinch of salt.
