Following the Public Test Session, Ubisoft shared that due to some issues this version raised, XDefiant will be officially delayed in order to allow the team to deliver a “best-in-class arcade shooter.”

XDefiant has rapidly gained recognition as one of this year’s most highly anticipated FPS games due to the team’s commitment to transparency in both the game’s development and publishing process. They’ve consistently shared their decision-making with players and provided opportunities for player input throughout the development journey.

During XDefiant’s development, the Ubisoft team released versions that allowed players to try out the game and get them even more excited for the release. However, after the latest Public Test on PC, the game doesn’t seem to be ready for a worldwide release yet.

XDefiant delayed with “game experience inconsistencies”

On October 9, Ubisoft shared that XDefiant would be officially delayed, following some game experience inconsistencies that surfaced during its PC Public Test Session.

In their statement, the team communicated that these problems that emerged must be resolved before launching the game’s Preseason content, in order to provide players with a “best-in-class arcade shooter.”

This builds upon the information provided on September 11 by Mark Rubin, the Executive Producer of the game, where he discussed the approval process on first parties, including an estimated release window spanning from late September to early to mid-October.

This led to release rumors hinting at an October launch, however, it’s now confirmed that the game won’t be released anytime soon due to issues encountered during the PC Public Test Session, prompting the team to “make the hard decision to delay the Preseason of XDefiant.”

Unfortunately, the XDefiant team has not shared an estimated date for when the game could be released, but they’ve stated that they will “share more information about testing and Preseason as it comes.”

Further, they decided to conclude by thanking the fans for all the support stating that they are “working hard to make something really special.”

All in all, that’s the latest update on XDefiant’s launch. We’ll be sure to share any updates on the game, so stay tuned for everything regarding the new title.
