Warzone 2 fights require intense concentration to come out on top, and the Season 2 Reloaded update is set to remove an “off-putting” HUD feature that has been frustrating players all season.

Warzone 2 Season 2 Reloaded is yet another huge update to the battle royale sequel, bringing a new Marksman Rifle for players to try as well as a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crossover.

The mid-season update is also introducing a number of quality-of-life changes, such as the addition of a Dark Flash Grenade accessibility feature.

Among these smaller updates is the long-awaited removal of a HUD feature that fans have been demanding since Season 2 started. Since the launch of Warzone 2 Season 2, a text notification has appeared on screen to inform players when they have shot through an enemy’s armor.

While this may seem like a minor feature, it’s caused plenty of frustration and untimely deaths. That said, finally, the ‘Armor Break’ pop-up text will be removed, as from Season 2 Reloaded, only the broken armor icon will appear along with the audio cue.

Armor Break text removed in Warzone 2 Season 2 Reloaded

With the Season 2 Reloaded update patch notes here, the devs confirmed, “The text has been removed from the Armor Break notification (when breaking all of an opponent’s Armor Plates) for improved clarity, whilst the icon has remained.”

Ever since the update, fans have been calling for the Armor Break message to be scrapped and for Warzone 2 to go back to the small symbol that was present in the original.

As mentioned by players such as ‘fatboyslick,’ in the heat of battle where there is little time to look away from the action, players were misinterpreting it as the ‘Downed’ notification.

The OP wasn’t alone, as plenty of other players responded to call for the HUD to be streamlined, calling the text pop-up “atrocious” and “confusing.”

In the most extreme cases, the confusion even caused players to die after misreading the situation. “I’ve lost games pushing enemies I thought I downed just to find out they were only armor broken and you die. It’s so dumb,” said one post.

Warzone 2 players will be relieved to hear that this problem should be fixed in Season 2 Reloaded, as the text will now only appear when an enemy has been downed.

Breaking armor will still produce the cracking sound and a small icon on-screen, but it should reduce the chance of players thinking they’ve knocked an enemy that is actually still standing.
