A new Apex Legends gun is allegedly set to arrive after one year in the making thanks to the upcoming Apex Legends Season 16 update.

Apex Legends Season 15 will be one of the longest in the game’s history having started on November 1, 2022, and Apex Legends Season 16 is due to commence on February 14, 2023.

As a result, we expect a huge wave of content to arrive in the new season, and while it likely won’t include a new Legend after the arrival of Catalyst, it appears as if a new gun is on the way.

Outed by a YouTube content creator, the rumor is that the weapon will be an Assault Rifle discovered well over a year ago in the game’s files.

Content Creator GG Thordan Smash has unearthed a ton of news about Apex Legends in the past, and they tweeted out on December 10, 2022, that Apex Legends Season 16 would dawn a new type of gun.

“Apex Legends finally getting the Nemesis in Season 16. That is all,” they said. They also posted a reply to their own Tweet showing that it is indeed the long-rumored Nemesis Burst AR.

It’s been a curious absence in Apex Legends as the gun was first identified way back in September 2021, but has yet to appear in the game.

Between the R-301 Carbine and Flatline, the Assault Rifle is already a fiercely competitive class in Apex Legends, and it will be interesting to add a burst weapon to it.

Players are already familiar with the burst concept thanks to the Prowler SMG, and it will be interesting to see how powerful the devs make the Nemesis Burst when it presumably debuts in Apex Legends Season 16.
