Underrated Warzone 2 SMG takes over Ashika Island with “broken” movement

Warzone 2’s Ashika Island is known for its fast-paced gameplay, and CoD content creator tcTekk has revealed the underrated SMG with incredible movement that is perfect for the smaller map.

Ashika Island has made quite the impression since it arrived in Warzone 2 with the Season 1 update. Players immediately fell in love with its striking POIs and close-quarters gunfights, with many preferring it to Al Mazrah.

Since the Resurgence map comes with totally different gameplay to the regular battle royale mode, Ashika Island has a weapon meta all of its own. This means that many weapons that aren’t as popular can become top options on the more compact map.

Warzone 2 YouTuber tcTekk believes he’s found one of these weapons, as an underrated SMG is actually extremely effective on Ashika Island.

In his March 30 video, tcTekk explain that the PDSW 528, better known as the P90, is one of his “favorite guns to use” in Warzone 2. This is thanks to the SMG’s insane movement, which he said feels more like “an old Warzone 1 gun.”

The P90 has a relatively low pick rate of just 2.1% according to WZ Ranked, placing it well behind the likes of the Lachmann Sub and Vaznev-9k. However, the creator felt that it was more than strong enough to become a meta contender on Resurgence.

tcTekk specifically built his best P90 loadout in Warzone 2 with movement in mind, starting with the VLK LZR 7MW laser and Hollow Extended Stock to drastically improve the SMG’s ADS and sprint-to-fire speed.

Next, he went for the STIP-40 Grip for improved recoil control, keeping the weapon on target even at mid-range. He also added the Light Rail for general movement speed buff, making you extremely hard to hit in close-quarters situations.

Finally, tcTekk used 5.7x 28MM Overpressured rounds to inflict target flinch on enemies, while tuning it to virtually eliminate recoil.

While the P90 has never quite secured meta status on Al Mazrah, with this movement-focused build, the SMG has everything required to become a top-tier choice on Ashika Island.
