Swagg slams state of Warzone 2 after mid-season update: “They literally did nothing”
Top CoD streamer Kris ‘FaZe Swagg’ Lamberson has hit out at the state of Warzone 2 after the Season 2 Reloaded update, calling for the devs to “get it together” and fix many of the issues hurting the game.
Warzone 2 Season 2 Reloaded is in full swing, with the major update bringing the new Tempus Torrent Marksman Rifle, alongside the St. Patrick’s Day event featuring the long-awaited one-shot Sniper.
It also brought many quality-of-life changes that fans had been calling for, including the Inverted Flash setting and audio fixes.
However, CoD streamer FaZe Swagg has slammed the state of Warzone 2 following the update, claiming that many of the biggest issues affecting the game remain unresolved.
Swagg sat down with fellow FaZe members Santana and Booya following Season 2 Reloaded to discuss Warzone 2, arguing that the devs “literally did nothing” in the mid-season update. He went on to list a number of issues that he feels are holding the game back.
The YouTuber started by hitting out at how long players have to wait between updates, and the sheer number of bugs and problems that come with each patch. “They messed up Tac Sprint,” he said, clearly confused at how such a vital feature could be broken by a new update.
He also criticized how long it takes for problems to be solved once discovered, such as overpowered weapons. “They are aware of the major stuff and they are working on it, I just wish they were faster,” he added. “The RPK was meta for 100 days.”
Next in the firing line was the time-to-kill, which the community has felt is “way too fast” ever since Warzone 2 launched. Swagg explained that based on meetings he’s had with the devs, Infinity Ward are aware of the issue but the shared engine between Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 makes it a much slower process to implement such drastic changes.
Another problem raised was the lack of community moments, as the Warzone 2 gameplay doesn’t offer much chance for exciting clips of kills or wins.
“There’s no clips, no highlights. When was the last time we all tweeted a clip [being] like ‘yo, crazy?'” said Swagg. “There’s no moments of Sniping, no cool movement clips.”
Despite all of his criticism of Warzone 2, Swagg is holding out hope that Season 3 will bring big changes. However, he wanted that players may begin leaving the game behind if drastic action isn’t taken.
“You guys say we complain a lot, but there is nobody else who wants to see this game succeed more than me,” Swagg concluded. “I just don’t understand, they definitely need to get it together or else we’re going to be on Fortnite.”
