Starfield is now rated lower on Steam than many of Bethesda’s other RPGs like Fallout 76, Fallout 4, Fallout 3, Skyrim, Oblivion, and Morrowind.

Despite seeing a successful launch and having a large number of active players, Starfield has turned out to be the lowest-rated Bethesda RPG on Steam. It’s now positioned below Fallout 76, which was review-bombed after launching with a ridiculous amount of bugs, performance issues, and broken promises.

All the major Elder Scrolls titles, like Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim, are rated above 90%, while Fallout 3 and Fallout 76 are only slightly higher than Starfield. Despite this, Starfield has amassed a massive player count, with Bethesda revealing that they had over 10 million total players.

Starfield falls lower than Fallout 76 on Steam ratings

The average user rating for Starfield is 71.67%, which is slightly lower than the 71.75% for Fallout 76. Fallout 3 comes close but is rated slightly higher, at 79.05%, followed by Fallout 4 at 81.88%. The Elder Scrolls RPGs, however, are way ahead. Morrowind comes in at 93.14%, Oblivion is rated 93.76%, and Skyrim has a rating of 93.88%.

The ratings are tracked by SteamDB, an independent platform that gets all its information from the official Steam database.

However, as of writing this article, Starfield has had a 24-hour peak of 141,301 players. It’s also the biggest release in Bethesda history, with over 10 million players in less than three weeks. This was confirmed by the devs in a recent post on X, the site formerly called Twitter. There were six million players in the first week alone, as revealed by Bethesda in an earlier post.
