There’s been no shortage of incredible discoveries made in Starfield since the game’s release. However, one player‘s NG+ journey has uncovered the most unexpected of twists.

Starfield is packed with secrets and mysteries that can require a bit of digging to uncover. Whether they’re essential game mechanics that were hiding in plain sight or hilarious discoveries that pop up organically, there’s plenty to see and find in Starfield.

The game’s central narrative is also shaped around discovering the universe’s secrets. It takes players on an expansive journey across multiple planets and systems before dropping a revelation as part of the ending. In fact, the ending actively encourages players to start a New Game+ playthrough and uncover what else the game has in store.

Every NG+ playthrough offers up different scenarios and alternate versions of the characters players have gotten familiar with. The community has already shared many of the surprising twists NG+ can bring but a recent discovery from a Starfield player is perhaps the most shocking yet. For players who’d like to find it for themselves, consider this a Spoiler Warning.

The discovery was made by X (formerly Twitter) user ‘NikoMueller.’ After exploring a total of 34 universes, and making it to NG+33, they uncovered one of the biggest surprises Starfield has to offer. During the early hours of their NG+33 playthrough, the player arrived at The Lodge for the first time, only to be greeted by their own character.

In fact, the player walked in just as their character from the 1st universe was handing over the artifact to Constellation. This prompted an intriguing exchange with the alternate version of the character, who reacted by saying, “Wait…No way.”

With dedicated dialogue and voice lines, this NG+ twist is certainly an intended part of the story rather than a strange bug. The player was even provided with a hilarious response and could say, “Do I really sound like that?”

The user went on to share other details about their discovery, such as the alternate version of their character having the same stats as the first playthrough. The character also seemed eager to introduce the player to their parents. Besides this, the player was also able to recruit their alternate version as a member of their ship crew. To make things better, the alternate version even comments on the player’s actions and has dialogue lines during combat.

It’ll be interesting to see if any other surprises come out of their playthrough.
