Fans of Capcom’s Resident Evil series are wondering if the Resident Evil 4 Remake can be played on the Steam Deck.

After leaving a lasting impact on Resident Evil fans in 2005, Resident Evil 4 has made its long-awaited return with new and improved graphics. The Resident Evil 4 Remake offers a compelling and intense story, as well as improved combat with a variety of weapons.

With Resident Evil 4 Remake, Capcom is attracting new players on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC who never experienced the original. While Resident Evil 4 Remake is available on current-gen consoles, many are wondering if you can play a portable version on the Steam Deck.

Is Resident Evil 4 Remake on Steam Deck?

The answer is yes, the Resident Evil 4 Remake is on Steam Deck. This means that those looking to experience the survival horror game on their portable Steam Deck device will be able to go straight to the Steam library to purchase and download the game.

While it does run pretty well on the Steam Deck, you will likely have to make some graphical downgrades for it to run at a smooth 60 FPS. Turning down the graphical settings will greatly improve performance, so we definitely recommend doing this if you’d like a satisfying experience.

Leon Kennedy will take center stage in Capcom’s Resident Evil 4 Remake.

The original Resident Evil 4 was exclusive to GameCube when it launched in 2005. Its exclusivity as a GameCube game was a major factor in Capcom’s desire to develop a modern version and make the game accessible to more players.

Resident Evil 4 Remake is available on PC, PS5, PS4, and Xbox Series X|S as of March 24, 2023. While the game is available to PS4 players, it’s notably absent on the Xbox One.

Those looking for a completely immersive Resident Evil 4 Remake experience will be delighted to know that the game is also compatible with the newly released PS VR2. The devs confirmed that Resident Evil 4 will hit PS VR2 as free post-launch DLC.
