How to get the SG-O9

The SG-O9 handgun is the first weapon you will use in the Resident Evil 4 Remake, as it’s the game’s basic sidearm that Leon starts the game with.

While it isn’t the most powerful weapon in the game, it definitely does the job for the first few hours, especially if you’re stunning enemies with a leg or headshot and following that up with a melee attack.

How to get the Punisher

The Punisher is the second handgun you will find in the game, and it can only be purchased from the Merchant with Spinels.

The Punisher costs 5 Spinels but it is certainly an upgrade on your SG-O9, as it has the capabilities to do some serious penetration damage, hitting multiple enemies with just one bullet.

How to get the Red9

Next up, the Red9 is another handgun that players can find in the very center of the lake in the wrecked boat of Chapter 4. You will find a chest here that has the Red9 inside of it.

This pistol is accurate but it lacks in damage, making it a good weapon for the more slow, weaker enemy types.

How to get the Matilda

The Matilda is a burst handgun that is great for taking on multiple enemies, with decent damage and a great fire rate. However, it isn’t the best for those trying to preserve ammo.

You can find the Matila in the Merchant’s Trade inventory, where it can be purchased for 10 Spinels in Chapter 8.

How to get the Blacktail

The last handgun in the game is the Blacktail, which can be bought from the Merchant for 24,000 Pesetas in Chapter 7. This handgun is essentially an upgrade to the basic SG-O9 pistol you are given at the start of the game.

How to get the W-870

This is the first shotgun you will find in the Resident Evil 4 remake, as it can be purchased from the Merchant in Chapter 2 or found in the house to the left of the tower in the Village Square, hanging on the wall in a frame on the second floor.

This weapon is very powerful up close, and is great for eliminating multiple enemies at a time, preventing you from getting overwhelmed.

How to get the Riot Gun

The Riot Gun is exactly what it says it is, a shotgun that can prevent waves of enemies from rioting against Leon. It is more powerful than the W-870, and can be purchased from the Merchant for 28,000 Pesetas in Chapter 6.

How to get the Striker

Another shotgun, the Striker is a weapon with a widespread that is perfect for damaging multiple enemies at a time when up-close and personal. The Striker can be bought from the Merchant for a hefty price of 38,000 Pesetas in Chapter 10.

How to get the TMP

The TMP is Resident Evil 4’s basic SMG that is great for damage output. While it isn’t the most accurate weapon, it can do a serious amount of damage in a short space of time.

This weapon is also bought from the Merchant for 10,000 Pesetas in Chapter 3.

How to get the LE-5

Arguably the best SMG you can find in your playthrough, the LE-5 is another SMG in Resident Evil 4 and it can be found in Chapter 13 after solving the Electronic Lock Terminal puzzle to get access into the Freezer.

How to get the Chicago Sweeper

The Chicago Sweeper, or Tommy Gun, is a fast-firing SMG that can be unlocked in the Extra Content Shop once you complete the game’s main story on Professional difficulty with at least an A rank.

The Tommy Gun has made its way into the Resident Evil 4 Remake.

How to get the SR M1903

In Chapter 2 just after Leon gets his gear back, players can purchase this SR M1903 bolt-action rifle for 12,000 Pesetas from the Merchant.

The SR M1903 is highly-accurate and deals great damage, making it perfect for taking out enemies from range.

How to get the Stingray

Another rifle, the Stingray is a semi-automatic weapon that deals extremely high damage, making it a solid primary weapon for the rest of the game once you purchase it from the Merchant in Chapter 7 for 30,000 Pesetas.

How to get the Bolt Thrower

A more stealthy option, the Bolt Thrower may not be the most impressive or powerful weapon, but for those who like to play the game with a more discreet approach, the Bolt Thrower is great. You can also attach mines to the projectiles for an explosion, and also pick up bolts to reuse.

This weapon can be purchased from the Merchant for 10,000 Pesetas in Chapter 2.

How to get the CQBR Assault Rifle

One of Resident Evil 4’s fully-automatic rifles is the CQBR Assault Rifle, an accurate weapon with great mag size and damage.

The CQBR Assault Rifle can be bought from the Merchant in Chapter 11 for 28,000 Pesetas or found in the Castle in Chapter 11 in the locked box upstairs in the south library.

Leon can do some serious damage with the CQBR Assault Rifle.

How to get the Broken Butterfly

The Broken Butterfly is an extremely powerful magnum revolver that deals a ton of damage with just one shot. This is great for those with the accuracy and precision for headshots.

You can buy this weapon from the Merchant for 28,000 Pesetas once you reach the castle during Chapter 7.

How to get the Killer7

Another magnum that can be found during your playthrough, the Killer7 is an upgrade on the previous, with more ammo per mag and damage.

The Killer7 can be bought from the Merchant in Chapter 13 for a whopping 77,000 Pesetas, but if you wait until Chapter 15 you can get it for a discounted price!

How to get the Handcannon

Yet another powerful magnum, the Handcannon can be purchased in the Extra Content Shop after players are able to complete the story in Professional difficulty with at least an A Rank.

How to get the Rocket Launcher

The Rocket Launcher, as you’d expect, is an absolutely chaotic weapon that deals huge amounts of damage in a large area. It’s great for large groups of enemies and bosses, but it does take up a lot of inventory space.

You can purchase this weapon from the Merchant for 80,000 Pesetas in Chapter 4.

How to get the Combat Knife

Resident Evil 4 players will start the game with the Combat Knife, and it’s used just like any other knife in the game, however, it can be upgraded and repaired.

How to get the Primal Knife
