The Resident Evil 4 Remake is one of 2023’s most exciting releases, as it brings the return of a classic in the survival horror genre, which has started to make a resurgence in recent years.

As players flock to purchase the game, enticed by pre-order bonuses, many are wondering how long the game is, and how many chapters there are to complete.

Resident Evil games are often broken up into chapters, giving players a rough idea of how far through the story they are, Resident Evil 4 is no different, but being one of the franchise’s longer games, what is its time to beat?

How long to beat Resident Evil 4?

According to howlongtobeat, the original 2005 version of Resident Evil 4’s main story takes around 16 hours to complete, which is one of the franchise’s longest games. For those completionists out there, you’re looking more around the 30-hour mark.

In an interview with PC Gamer, Yoshiaki Hirabayashi, a producer behind the remake, confirmed that the game will be a very similar length to the original.

That said, the Resident Evil 4 Remake could be shorter or longer than the original as it all depends on how much new content has been added or classic content stripped away. We’ll have a better understanding once the game officially launches on March 24, 2023.

Resident Evil 4 has five overarching chapters in the game, but each of these chapters has multiple subchapters.
