What is Pokemon TCG Pocket?

Pokemon TCG Pocket is a new mobile game that will allow players to open virtual Pokemon TCG packs to collect their own set of cards. Players will be able to do much more than just collect, as the announcement trailer revealed features like trading and battling on the go as well.

The game will feature classic cards as well as new exclusive immersive cards that take on a life of their own in the virtual game. It remains to be seen how players will be able to purchase or acquire packs. However, the trailer did confirm that players will get to “open two packs per day at no cost.”

The Pokemon Company confirmed that Pokemon TCG Pocket will be available for iOS and Android devices when it launches in 2024. This new mobile experience is being worked on by Creatures and DeNA. The former originally developed the Pokemon Trading Card Game, while the latter developed the Masters EX game.

There’s no telling how this will impact the currently active Pokemon TCG Live, which is quite similar in concept, but we’ll be sure to keep you posted on the latest developments.
