Thanks to a GameStop promo, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players can redeem a code to receive an Electric Tera Type Mimikyu, just in time for spooky season.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet released a ton of new content to explore thanks to the release of the first DLC titled The Teal Mask. To celebrate Halloween, The Pokemon Company are partnering with GameStop for a new giveaway that allows players to claim a rare Pokemon.

The Pokemon Scarlet and Violet GameStop giveaway will feature an Electric Tera Type Mimikyu that will be distributed via codes. Mimikyu is a rare Ghost/Fairy type Pokemon that was released with Gen 7, and is a unique species that has a direct resemblance to Pikachu, as it uses a disguise to pretend to be the iconic Electric-type.

Here’s what you need to know to claim a Mimikyu code in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

How to claim Electric Tera Type Mimikyu in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

The Pokemon Company have revealed that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers will be able to claim an Electric Tera Type Mimikyu for free from October 13 to October 29. The giveaway will be released through a code at local GameStops for trainers located in the United States and Canada.

While no purchases are required to receive a code for the rare Mimikyu, the devs did note that the offer is only available while supplies last, meaning each GameStop likely has a limited supply.

According to the blog post: “This Mimikyu comes in a Cherish Ball, has the Classic Ribbon, and is holding a Life Orb that increases the damage of all its moves at the cost of its HP. This special Mimikyu also knows the move Thunderbolt.”
