The Teal Mask is finally here, and Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players have a lot of new content to explore. The DLC also mentions the Blueberry Academy and even hints players will return to the fan-favorite Unova region soon.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet finally released its first DLC, The Teal Mask, with a whole new area to explore and lots of Pokemon to catch. This first half of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero also introduces new characters that will be important in the second half, titled The Indigo Disk.

While The Teal Mask adds many hours of content for trainers to discover, some fans are already thinking ahead. The Land of Kitakami has new Pokemon as well as many returning ones, alongside an interesting storyline based on a Japanese legend. However, one of the first lines in the DLC already mentions the Blueberry Academy, and players can’t contain their excitement.

The Pokemon Black and White series ranks high among the most beloved entries in the franchise, which prompted many players to ask for a remake. While there aren’t any plans for that yet, at least not officially announced, it seems fans will soon return to the Unova region based in New York City.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet DLC hints at return to Unova region

To kickstart The Teal Mask DLC of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, players meet with Mr. Jacq and Ms. Briar, and they reveal that the Blueberry Academy is located in the Unova Region. Since players will be able to visit the Blueberry Academy when the second DLC, The Indigo Disk, comes out, we can confirm players will go back to the Unova Region fairly soon. Of course, there’s a catch.

It’s important to note that this doesn’t mean players will be able to visit familiar locations and towns from the Unova Region. It’s yet to be confirmed how The Indigo Disk will play out. It was already revealed that the Blueberry Academy has a huge underwater facility called Terarium that works as a whole new area to explore. This could mean players will stay the entirety of the DLC stationed there.

Nonetheless, some characters introduced in The Teal Mask are set to return in The Indigo Disk to keep unveiling the secrets of the Terastallization phenomenon, Paradox Pokemon, and much more. Some players even think the new faces are descendants of characters introduced in titles like Pokemon Legends: Arceus, which could bring a lot of fan theories to the table.

It’s too early to tell what The Indigo Disk will bring to Unova fans, but that simple line of dialogue already sparked excitement among players for the future of the franchise.
