Item Printer in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC.

The Item Printer is back from Gen 8 into the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC, and here’s how to use and upgrade it, as well as every upgrade tier and its bonuses.

The Indigo Disk DLC has a lot of new stuff to find and use while exploring the wilds of the Blueberry Academy. From flying on Koraidon and Miraidon to controlling your Pokemon using a special device, there’s plenty of content to tackle.

When facing the BB Elite Four Challenge, you will come to know the facilities of the Blueberry Academy. Inside one of its most used spaces, the League Club Room, Pokemon trainers can operate a machine that is back from Pokemon Sword and Shield.

The Item Printer lets you trade Pokemon materials for useful items, so here’s how to unlock and use it, as well as the different upgrades and rewards available.

How to unlock & use Item Printer in Pokemon S&V DLC

The Item Printer can only be used in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC, as it is part of the Blueberry Academy, and it is unlocked by completing a request on the League Club Room’s computer. The Science Club will ask for 200 BP to unlock the Item Printer as a special research project.

Once unlocked, the machine will be present at all times in the League Club Room for players to use. Simply approach the device and press A to pay 10 BP to interact with it. This will open a menu where you can use Pokemon materials to obtain a completely random item.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet DLC: All Item Printer upgrades & rewards

The Item Printer can be upgraded in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC, with each upgrade appearing in the form of a new request on the League Club Room’s computer. To unlock said requests, you must complete a series of prints using the device first.

Here are all the upgrades for the Item Printer, as well as its BP cost, use requirements, and rewards:

  • First upgrade: Use the machine 30 times and spend 200 BP on the upgrade request. The first upgrade unlocks the chance of receiving double item drops on item prints.
  • Second upgrade: Print 80 items and spend 500 BP on the upgrade request. The second upgrade unlocks the Poke Ball Lotto feature, which adds a 1% chance of turning all printed items into multiple rare Pokeballs.
  • Third upgrade (final): To obtain the last upgrade you need to complete The Indigo Disk DLC’s main story and spend 1000 BP on the final upgrade request. The third and final upgrade unlocks the possibility of receiving Stellar Tera Shards on item prints.
