The Pokemon Go Rising Heroes season keeps bringing new events for players to enjoy. Returning for another year is the Sustainability Week event that features new Pokemon debuts in 2023, alongside special bonuses, Research tasks, and more.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Pokemon Go Sustainability Week 2023 event.

Pokemon Go Sustainability Week 2023 dates & times

Sustainability Week 2023 is taking place in Pokemon Go from Thursday, April 20, 2023, at 10 AM to Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at 8 PM local time.

New avatar items are available during Sustainability Week 2023.

Pokemon Go Sustainability Week 2023 debuts

The Pokemon Go Sustainability Week event features the in-game debuts of Bounsweet and its two evolutions, Steenee and Tsareena.

While Bounsweet is appearing in the wild and some Eggs, players will need to spend 25 Candy to evolve it into Steene. Steenee can evolve into Tsareena with 100 Bounsweet Candy, so players will need to capture as many Bounsweet as they can.

Since Sustainability Week 2023 marks the debut of these Pokemon, they won’t appear in shiny form.

Bounsweet, Steenee, and Tsareena finally debuted in Pokemon Go.

Pokemon Go Sustainability Week 2023 bonuses

These bonuses are active during the Pokemon Go Sustainability Week 2023 event:

  • If your Buddy Pokemon is an Ultra Buddy or higher, it will bring you souvenirs more frequently.
  • If your Buddy Pokemon is a Great Buddy or higher, it will bring you leaf-wrapped gifts more frequently. These gifts will contain Berries more often, and they may even contain a Silver Pinap Berry!
  • Your Buddy Pokemon will accompany you on the map longer after being fed.

Since players need 125 Bounsweet Candy to get Tsareena, setting Bounsweet as their Buddy during the event sounds like the fastest way to reach that goal. There was another bonus that allowed players to walk half the distance to earn Candy with their Buddy Pokemon, but Niantic revealed this was a mistake in the official announcement.
