Best counters for Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Mismagius Tera Raid

Mismagius after evolving
Mismagius evolves from Misdreavus after exposing it to a Dusk Stone.

The best counters for the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Mismagius Tera Raid Battle are Hydreigon, Ursaluna, and Kingambit.

Mismagius has a considerably versatile moveset with high Special Attack, so it will require you to be ready with Pokemon with Hig Special Defense.

Here are some strategies that we have been optimizing to make things easier for you to beat the Mismagius Tera Raid Battle event:

Best Hydreigon strategy for Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Mismagius Tera Raid

Hydreigon in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet.
Hydreigon is one of your best options to face Mismagius Tera Raid.

Hydreigon is a nice choice for the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Mismagius Tera Raid. Its Dragon/Dark typing makes it resilient to most of Mismagius’ moves, except Icy Wind, which of course, can make things difficult for you.

If you bring a Dark Tera-type Hydreigon, you can boost your chances. Thanks to its Dark Tera type, Tera Blast or Dark Pulse will deal considerable damage. Make sure to bring the EV spreads of Hydreigon to half HP and half Special Attack.

If you use Nasty Plot three times, you can maximize Hydreigon’s Special Attack and deal some considerable damage to Mismagius.

Best Ursaluna strategy for Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Mismagius Tera Raid

Ursaluna in Pokemon Legends Arceus.
Ursaluna is now available in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet The Teal Mask DLC.

Ursaluna is a decent option for this Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Mismagius Tera Raid. It has high HP and a decent Special Defense stat. It also has one of the most interesting combos that can deal severe damage to Mismagius in Crunch and Belly Drum. Mismagius has a low Defense stat, so physical Dark-type attacks like Crunch are its main weakness.

If you pair this with an Ursaluna that has the Guts Ability and a Flame Orb equipped, you’ll breeze through this battle. We recommend the Adamant Nature, which boosts Attack.

Plus, Ursaluna’s Normal-type makes it immune to Ghost-type moves. Focus on using Belly Drum, followed by Leer and Taunt, then finish Mismagius with a repetition of Crunch.

Best Kingambit strategy for Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Mismagius Tera Raid

Kingambit in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet
Kingambit is a reliable option against all Pokemon weak to the Dark-type.

With Kingambit you will have no trouble beating the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Mismagius Tera Raid. Kingambit is a Pokemon that has it all: power, boosts, sure strikes, and most importantly, resistance against Mismagius’ STAB.

Its only problem would be its Steel typing, which can be countered by Mismagius’ Mystical Fire, but we will address that next. Equip Kingambit with this moveset: Kowtow Cleave, Taunt, Swords Dance, and Rain Dance.

Use Rain Dance to lower Mystical Fire damage output, then throw a Taunt to prevent Mismagius from using Status Effect moves. Follow up by raising Kingambit’s Attack stat using Swords Dance, then finish it off by using Kowtow Cleave. You cannot miss, literally, as that move doesn’t miss.
